Not a fan of this hire whatsoever. Dan Campbell making another mistake IMHO.
I think he's an up and coming offensive hire. Not sure he'll be enough for them but he did some good stuff with ARI run game and (right or wrong) was a part of Trey McBride turning into what he turned into. He even got some good games out of Brissett (but maybe couldn't bend his system enough for Murray?).

Salah hire is all going to come down to who he gets at OC to coach up Ward. Also you can pencil in an edge rusher for them at pick 4.

Rumor is he is going to be paired with Mike McDaniel as they worked together in San Francisco, but again, not sure what is going on with McDaniel.

I've seen that but he's also interviewing for HC gigs still.

no 3rd round picks this time for the Whiners, good fuck them putos
Is this true? I hope so because otherwise it’s total nonsense to double up. But I haven’t seen it discussed anywhere.

Edit: someone in other thread mentioned coach must with team for 2 years. If so, the smallest amount of common sense. Now do more NFL.

It seems that if they are going to have this rule, they should be holding to the spirit of it - which is to give minorities an opportunity "they might not otherwise have". If a person has already been a HC, they shouldn't qualify as they have already been given that opportunity. And honestly, how does the two year rule even make sense if they are truly trying to hold to the spirit of their stated goal?

My problem isn't the 2 year rule it's that a team can get picks for a guy twice. You got picks once he got fired youre done with picks for that guy.

Campbell be like:

The rule is basically there so the owners can point to the coaching spread of ethnicities and say they're diverse. It should help on the opportunity side, but this is the problem philosophically with this type of approach. That there are flaws inherent in it and I think it goes much deeper than just this, though that's not a conversation for this board. :laugh2:

Are the Steelers thinking short term here? Hiring McCarthy to bridge the gap until they find a QB, then once they have that QB, move on from McCarthy?
I just don't get the fascination with McCarthy. He wasn't great in his younger days. He hasn't aged well either. Would he fit well with a patient approach that gives the coach a long rope? Steeler fans are spoiled on the defensive side so I doubt they'll like this dude at HC. If they hire McCarthy it just feels like it's gonna end badly.
