Kingbury will get a job in no time. Either an OC or HC. He's being scapegoated because he couldn't get stellar play out of Mariota or Josh Johnson? Did he injure Daniels? Quinn is an idiot head coach....great DC....better than Spags as a head coach, not as good as a DC. Kingsbury took a rookie QB and rode him to the #7 offense last year, #5 in points. But yeah, it's his fault Washington sucked this year and allowed 27 PPG.

I'd be ok with Morris coming back if Shula leaves. I think Morris is a good coach. Falcons FO is a mess right now, and I think his firing is just him getting caught in the crossfire.
Morris is a top 15 coordinator in the league just not top 10. He's neither a bum nor a god. I'd be okay having him back but interested in going elsewhere too.

Yeah, Morris comes back, bringing back the coaches he took with him, while Shula leaves and takes more coaches with him. Lol..

Actually, I don't think Shula gets a job. He would have needed a dominating defense this year to get a one. Owners want mostly offensive coaches.

However, if he left, would he take Lafluer with him? Parallel move, but he would get to call plays. If so, would Kingsbury come here if McVay gave the OC more responsibility so he could focus on the overall team more easily?

Not sure I would like that since Kingsbury would be gone in a year if they had a good season.

I could see Zac Robinson being an OC candidate if LaFleur did leave.

Dan Quinn is not a good HC IMO. He was carried by Kyle Shanahan in Atlanta and now without Kingsbury, he will be fired after the 2026 IMO.

And yes I am going to post it again and again, turn your damn hat around you freaking putz!

Kingsbury's offense is about as far away as you can get from this one. Hard to square that circle.

I thought Shula would be high on the list of guys but amazing what a day's difference makes, sure sounds like there's steam to what Allbright is saying about HC vacancies. Still there are at least two teams that could go in any direction.

Us not getting the bye has certainly been in our favor of keeping him, that's for sure.

I dont think a HC could have done a worse job then Aaron Glenn. Completely disengaged team, and from a defensive guy to set such a dubious record, good grief
That said, if the Jets had an inkling of a brain, they could easily become an attractive destination for a HC candidate
1) 2nd pick in draft, + 16th, 33rd & 44th pick in 2026
2) 3 1st round picks in 2027
3) 4th most available cap space in 2026
4) Owner who isnt afraid to spend money
And yet, they're gonna J E T S Jets suck suck suck.....
Theyll give Glenn another year, he'll get blown out in the first 5-7 games and they'll fire him

Lol it would be wild to get Zac Robinson and Morris back if Shula left and took LaFleur. That just shows the amount of saturation the McVay coaching tree has, if enough of them are getting fired and hired.

I agree that the most likely scenario is that Shula doesn't get a job this year. But I also know that names have value, and Shula has a big name attached to him. So, it is in the realm of possibility that he gets hired. And if he does, I think bringing Morris back adds a familiarity that may have some value.

Really, if Shula leaves, I would like either Pleasant or Morris to replace him. I don't care which. Though Pleasant seems to have been groomed by McVay for quite some time at this point.

Why would Morris want to come back?

The Raiders are looking for a HC..... I can see him getting that crappy organization back on track to somewhat respectability.

Basically all retreads. There will be a couple of surprises, reaches.

It won’t be this predictable
yeah totally fair, think Ben's info is usually on point but they are his guesses... maybe the takeaway is that NYG, CLE and ARI seem really more open to going any which way

CLE is a dumpster fire, I don't know that you get a good hire there, they're years from competing. ARI is pretty bare but you're also not starting from a deficit I guess. NYG needs help but you can squint and see them competing in a year if offseason and draft hit just right.

Who wants to coach at Arizona?
3 very good teams in the division and all could stay good for the foreseeable future.

Have you read up on that situation?

If you had - you would have been read that Carroll went to an NCAA meeting where the Miami President was presiding and he vehemently wanted to give USC the death penalty no matter if they were guilty or innocent,

Carroll left USC after that meeting.

And to this day, USC was only guilty of what all big football colleges do - letting their football players basically rule the campus.

The Bush thing - there was no evidence that USC actually knew that Bush's parents were living at a really nice apartment in Lake Elsinore for cheap provided by Bush's agent.

The running back coach who supposedly knew that situation about Bush sued the NCAA for losing his job and they settled out of court because they did not want the truth coming out that their punishment of USC was based on zero evidence. It was all heresay.
It doesn't wash with me. No one is going to convince me that Carroll didn't know what was going on. Head coaches know but the shields are up to protect them should it get exposed. Certainly there are things they don't know...but not things on that level.

Too often the schools get punished and the coach walks free. The coaches need to be held accountable. Carroll rode off into tons of money at Seattle while USC took the hit.

damn, Harbaugh gone is a surprise. Think he gets fired if the kicker makes that kick?

I don't know. He had the team to win the superbowl for the 3 years previous and they didn't even get close. Then they were very average this season. His window closed.

Oh he probably knew but the NCAA had zero evidence. As such, USC should not have been punished other than letting their players be total dipshits on campus. But if they should have been punished, all major football universities should have been punished.

But the Miami president had it in for USC and he was going to enforce a death penalty no matter what.

All major college football coaches know shit is going on in their backyard but they look away just like Carroll did. I don't blame him for walking away since he knew the Miami president was going to be a total dickhead in his punishment on USC. I 100% put the blame on the Miami president even though he knew shit was going on in his backyard.

USC should have sued the NCAA but they decided against it since if info. came out that the NCAA was corrupt, college football would go downhill. Hell, I bet USC pressured the NCAA to resolve their court case with the USC running back coach.
