Ah. So, in other words, the Rams better secure an answer from him soon.Correct but that year that was still during our playing season.

We won the Super Bowl that year on February 13th so we were still playing. Also KOC was hired after the SB as a head coach.
From Scheelhaase? It all depends on if LaFleur gives him playcalling duties. If he would then the Rams can't keep him unless McVay does the same.Ah. So, in other words, the Rams better secure an answer from him soon.
That will take a while, it won’t be overnight. The Kubiak/Mendoza combo for Vegas could upset the balance in the AFC West.
True. Damn. I guess we'll know soon. Can't imagine Lafluer doesn't want to call his own plays. From Scheelhaase? It all depends on if LaFleur gives him playcalling duties. If he would then the Rams can't keep him unless McVay does the same.
Many of the best black coaches are on the defensive side of the ball as well. I think black kids considering coaching should start choosing offense.Like the tweet says there aren't enough in the lower level of coaching yet.
I am 100% behind the idea of the Rooney rule of getting more minorities into coaching. But this year more than any other just drives home what a joke the rule is. We had 11 head coach openings and 1 went to a minority.

What if they gave 1 pick for a guy promoted to HC and then added that you get one for a guy promoted to OC/DC/STC? Seems to me that gets the pipeline going better than the current set up.Yeah honestly the third round comp picks are likely a better rule than the Rooney rule. The NFL is a league of nepotists. Even most of the good coaches had to know someone. Compensation is probably more likely to incentivize coaches to bring on more minority coordinators, which will slowly create a bigger pool of head coaching candidates.
I think that's a great idea. Like you said, the water has to come from the well. So extend the pipeline a little further. Even if you get a comp 5th for one of your defensive backs coaches moving up to someone else's defensive coordinator or something. What if they gave 1 pick for a guy promoted to HC and then added that you get one for a guy promoted to OC/DC/STC? Seems to me that gets the pipeline going better than the current set up.
Agreed. How about a fourth-round pick for minority OCs/DCs/STCs that are poached? I personally wouldn't mind if that was the case. What if they gave 1 pick for a guy promoted to HC and then added that you get one for a guy promoted to OC/DC/STC? IIRC he offered him something like that before he took the Commodes position. It would fit his MO. He did it with Olsen too but I think Kliffy could still get an OC job.Assuming Scheelhasse gets the OC job, as many of us expect, I wonder if McVay extends Kingsbury an offer as an Assistant-HC / Pass-Game-coordinator.
Brings in a new, experienced offensive mind, while also providing a friend a short-term/high-profile life-line.

Agree. Kingsbury has interviewed for the Giants' OC job under Harbaugh.IIRC he offered him something like that before he took the Commodes position. It would fit his MO. He did it with Olsen too but I think Kliffy could still get an OC job.
