I disagree, the offensive line is a mess in Las Vegas and the defense has one player, that's it. Granted they will have their choice at QB, but will they hire a HC that can develop him? Mark Davis cannot spell cat if you spotted him the C and the A. So IMO, they will continue to be the bottom feeder of the AFC West.
I’m not disagreeing with your assessment of the raiders, you understand, but should a COMPETENT GM take the reins, it would be a great opportunity.

Imagine it was YOU. You’re a knowledgeable poster. You couldn’t do something about that OL?
Your 2nd rounder alone should net you a starter.

"Some context into the Dolphins' decision to fire Mike McDaniel, per multiple people involved in the decision: Owner Steve Ross met with McDaniel on Tuesday, and the outcome of the meeting left Ross very conflicted. He really likes Mike -- "loves his intelligence and offensive mind" -- but Tuesday's meeting resulted in some hard thoughts. Ross didn't feel like the results were there, and despite the end-of-year production, Ross simply wasn't comfortable moving forward with the "status quo." Now for the elephant in the room: I'm told the Dolphins have not yet been in touch with John Harbaugh or anyone in his camp, and people close to the decision are adamant this decision to move away from McDaniel is independent of Harbaugh's availability. I'm told the Dolphins will conduct the head coaching search after a GM is in place, which should be in the next few days. Yes, it obviously could lead to discussions with Harbaugh. And yes, one of the GM candidates (Chad Alexander) is very close to Harbaugh. But people close to the situation tell me this decision to fire Mike would have been made either way."

Who knows? But the timing is rather strange. Two guys let go in season (Daboll, Callahan), 4 guys let go on Monday upon season's completion (Carroll, Stefanski, Morris and Gannon). During all those firings the Dolphins announce McDaniels is safe and will in fact, be part of the GM search. Then Harbaugh is fired on Tuesday January 6th. I'll bet the Dolphins were wringing their hands waiting 48 hours to keep it from being totally obvious!!!! Of course they'll wring those hands again for another 48 hours before announcing Chad Alexander as the new GM!!!!
That's a whole lot of "we're following the Rooney Rule" speak.

On a different subject, why is Matt Nagy getting a lot of HC play? And reading social media posts by some fans like the Ravens are excited about it... why? I don't get it. Dude was a huge failure as a HC and the Chiefs offense has slid off a cliff since he showed back up in charge of it. Plus, he's just generally unlikable I feel like. But maybe just me.

I’m laughing because he was given the old cliche, kiss-of-death, vote of confidence earlier this season. They said he WOULD return next year.
I wonder if Harbaugh really wants that job because it’s South Beach and maybe the Family wants warm weather.

That one surprises me a little.

Realize the Bucs' offense dipped this season but their offense was hit hard by injuries at pretty-much every single position, including both WR starters, both OT starters and their top RB. Only one O-Lineman played in all 17 games; and he played out-of-position for part of the season, filling-in for injured OL.
See where Bowles and Tampa also let go of the ST coordinator, QB coach and DL coach.

Makes me wonder ... sometimes, when a head coach is considered a candidate to be let go but is then retained by ownership/front office, that is conditioned on the coach making some changes to his staff.
Should the head coach refuse, he is often fired. No way to know for sure but it makes me think a little.

Now, I am thinking about cake.

Yesterday, I thought it was interesting that Dan Quinn parted ways with both his coordinators.

OK, back to cake, cookies and pie.

You realize you quoted yourself there right?
Remember, its not the talking to one's self that's an issue, it's when an argument ensues
Haha

Harbaugh: the Raiduhs might be the most attractive, simply because the #1 overall pick is right there (Mendoza) for the taking, and you could start fresh with a new QB kid with tons of talent. Miami, with Tua? and maybe a shot at the Oregon kid? Harbaugh would need to do a lot of soul searching & be guaranteed a new QB to replace Tua.

Well, I thought the 2nd post worked well with my prior post which was also about Tampa coaching changes.

That being said, I did think that the poster I was quoting was a clever fellow and kind of attractive.

Thank you ... I am impressed by your posts. The rest of these guys on ROD kind of bore me.

The Raiders roster is so devoid of talent that I have even seen some talking heads suggest that the Raiders should trade the pick for a bunch of picks and focus on next year for a QB. They could also move Crosby. So they could end up with multiple #1's & 2's next year and likley a top 2 or 3 pick, if not the top pick.

It would take some stones to admit that you are essentially tanking next year, but to actually build a team, it would make a lot of sense as opposed to throwing Mendoza outthere with little support around him. You have a better chance of ruining the kid than you do of being successful.
