Mougey & Glenn Together to the Bitter End.

Just thinking of the headlines when this comes all crashing down in the next 3 years.

Ray Farmer next year then I'd wager. Maybe when the Aints finally fire Mickey Loomis for what he's done to that team.
Not sure it will be the Saints, but Farmer will get his shot and hopefully it will be with an organization that gives him a legitimate chance.

30 years of crap will do that to a team.

Hope the Jets included him in the head coach hire. Otherwise he'll be looking to fire Glenn and get his own pick in there.

Never really know with a GM hire. Those guys don't have track records fans can judge as effectively as coaches. But hiring a good GM would be the way to fix that burning trash bin they call an organization.

Glenn strikes me as a great drinking buddy, but I have never liked how he calls a defense. He's just a guy in that regard I think. So I doubt he has what it takes unless this GM starts bringing in studs for him in the draft every year.

Jets did it differently this year, they hired the Head Coach first and then hired a GM that he could work with. So Mougey was not part of the decision to hire Glenn, but Glenn signed off on the hiring of Mougey.

This is similar to the way the Rams did it, they hired McVay and then let McVay make the decision on whether to keep Les Snead or not and McVay felt good about their relationship and the rest is history.

Well re: McVay the reason it worked is because he's well suited to the head coach role. So in that regard I think the Jets have a different experience ahead.

But yeah I haven't really tracked all these hires. Some of them are so poor that I just lost interest. As far as Mougey is concerned the gratitude he feels for the job due to the head coach signing off on him only goes so far though. Even if he is under Glenn in the decision making authority for the roster he may be thinking he's got a better vision. So if and when Glenn starts losing and struggling in the role inevitably that thought will become "I need my own dude in here to ensure I am getting my best shot here."
