I'm personally glad people express reasonable concerns and prognostications on this forum. The quality of discourse would take a dive without it.
Yep if we all agreed nobody would come here. Except @Loyal. He'd be like:

Brian Allen has not been an All -Pro caliber but I do think he’s been better than Blythe and I am less concerned with the center position now. I don’t feel the need right now to continue banging the table for Snead to draft a center.

Better get them signed then. Allen & Corbett are both due to become free agents following this season, and Coleman will be an RFA.

Allen has been a very pleasant surprise. The interior played well against a tough Bucs DL.

I think I'd try to sign Allen tbh. Because OGs are easier to find and work into your line. But I'd like to see that he can stay healthy too though so idk what the best way to play this would be. We're kind of in a tough spot though that is a later concern.

I think it will come down to how soon they re-sign/extend Stafford, as that should free up enough dollars to get a few of our other guys under contract going forward. I suspect we'll hear about a Stafford extension sometime around late November/early December, then things should really start heating up. jmo.

The Brian Allen narrative has been fun.
So many of us thought he was just going to be a backup. Then, when he was named starter, a lot of us were stunned. The perception among most Rams fans, imo, was that Corbett wasn't doing great and that Evans down performance made it the lesser of two evils to put Allen at starting center and keeping Corbett at guard.
Turns out the truth seems to be much clearer.. Allen isn't just the best center on the roster, he's legitimately good. And keeping Corbett at guard has kept that position as a strength.

The line looks better, to me, than it did in 2018.

We may never know how Corbett might have done at Center, although we are quite certain that Evans was definitely not the answer at RG. The maturity & development of our OL has been a tremendous gift thus far in 2021, and we should enjoy it as retirements & free agency are likely to have us looking a bit different next season. Keep healthy and celebrate every win that gets us closer to home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Go Rams ...

I had all but given up on him like I basically have with Noteboom after bad tape and more than enough injuries. It's a very pleasant site to see a draft pick I liked redeem himself in this way.

Yep. Gonna have to lose somebody. Isn't Seabass a free Agent also?
He is.
I assume SJD and D Williams are gone next year. Rochelle moves in as a starter and either Gaines is a starter or Bobby Brown develops enough to be a starter. Maybe they split reps.
The cap is going up.
I actually think that if Whit retires, the Rams can manage to keep Corbett, Allen and Noteboom. At worst, two out of those three.

Isn't Gurley and Goff money completely off the books next year?

I hope the line doesn't look too different. It too a year and a half to get it back on track, then another year and coaching change to get it to where it is.

Rams are still without a solid swing OG at this time so that's a problem.

OL caoch Carberry will need to find out which of his still remaining reserves either Alaric Jackson 6-7/315 or Tremayne Anchrum 6-22/315 can be that effective Swing OG this season. Carberry needs to have one of them ready to start @ RG for the departing Corbett thus permitting a better chance of resigning OC Brian Allen & LT Joseph Noteboom.

It would be Anchrum was to come out on top as our swing OG so Jackson can be our swing OT.

Yup all the dead $ goes away after this year. That combined with the increase in salary cap + a stafford extension should give us a lot of money to play with.

Yea I dont think this is being talked about enough. Carberry has this line playing fantastic. The 3 fronts we've faced have been no joke, Hicks and Mack, then Buckner, Grover Stewart, and Darius Leonard who rushes a lot, now Vita Vea, Suh, Barret, with Devin White blitzing a lot. Man!!

I've been so pleased with how well Brian Allen has played. He put some shitty play on film in 2019, no way around it. But he obviously worked hard and has improved a lot. Combined with our new OL coach the interior's play has been impressive.
