Re: Levis I don't want to get crazy defending the guy but I feel like this is a groupthink-turning-against-him type deal. You can cite rawness and it's true he's only been starting a couple years so he does some shit new QBs do. But if you count up his good plays and compare those to say Richardson it's pretty clear that Richardson was taken high solely due to his upside. Because his film was uglier than that of Levis. His wow plays were insane, granted. But there is not enough there for a brick shithouse like Levis to fall like he did just based on tape when you see AR go 4 overall.

And when you add that the guy dealt with a sieve of an OL, losing his OC, and playing through injuries this past season there are reasons for his play dipping.

So if he doesn't go early round 2 and if the Rams pass on him I think the explanation is he's got some character or personality quirks teams don't like. There's more at play here than meets the eye IMO. Also not buying the toe injury explanation offered up by Mort. It's gotta be coachability, personality, some sort of area they project him encountering trouble at this level.

It will also be the first time since the movie Pretty Woman that I will be rooting for a Hooker.

Again hoping I am wrong here, but I am connecting the dots.
What will be your box wine of choice for the Draft today?

Torrence would be a great pick. A plug-and-play Day 1 starter who, if healthy, will be a mainstay for 10 years.

Not a “sexy” pick, but a great foundational piece.
I think that would be the sexiest pick we could make.

He sounds like a pick I would love. Therefore, Snead won't pick him....

Looking at some of the teams ahead of us I suspect the Colts will go get AR his lineman in Torrence. It's a value/need/association pick and the Colts pick at 35.

Brian Branch, S/CB, Alabama - would instantly be our best DB hard to pass on drafting a starter and best player in a position group

O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida solid against both run & pass no glam just productive

Steve Avila, G, TCU Versitile just like we like em

Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame - could be faster

BJ Ojulari, DE/OLB, LSU - mild size concerns

Why are you yelling (blue font).

I’m hoping for Torrence. Mcvay probably goes with Avila though, who is lighter on his feet and a better fit for what our Guards are expected to do.

Assuming we actually draft a guard/center that early. Which I seriously doubt.

Washington is helluva a blocker tho too and he smashed some of the "studs" in this draft. That's gotta hold some value especially in the run game. Plus it'd be nice to have a physically imposing player that can beat defenses up. Not advocating for the guy but just giving reasons why he may be considered.
I understand that that would be great to have, but this team can't afford luxuries at this stage. Need more meat and potatoes. Can barely field a starting defense at this point.

Mauch moves really well too. There's all kinds of quality at OL right now.

Schmitz sitting there too like "come take me Sean." Nothing against Allen but that dude would be outstanding.

Being able to successfully run the ball isnt a luxury, its a necessity

I'll give him a chance to get better, if becomes a Ram. However, not many QB's taken in the 2nd round become good starters. In his case, it might be years for him to become a decent back up, which him a wasted pick INMHO when we have other needs that are great and have great value with our first three picks. Using one on a raw QB holding a clipboard would make the 2023 season appear bleak. Just a Sean Mannion clone from FA for the next couple of years....
