McVay and Snead paid too much attention on getting the “glitter” players. Po sit ion players that gets the most attention. They forgot about the blue collar players that make the offense work.

After winning SB 56, I don't feel like criticizing McVay or Snead is fair. Yes, I think they counted on not having so many injuries on the OL and our bench is short but I think they'll work it out.

The whiners were 2-4 last season and rat boy dug them out of the hole. McVay is a better coach than rat boy.

It's clear that losing Whitworth was a bigger loss that anyone imagined. Not only the loss of talent but the loss of an experienced veteran with leadership and respect of the other players.

When we have to keep Evans as depth that means they ignored the o-line for too long. Should have extended Corbett as well and still drafted Bruss. Imagine if we also had drafted Creed Humphrey (yeah that dead ass horse argument lol) instead of Tutu, we'd be set at the o-line quite a bit better. Unfortunately, a lot of the moves were not used to draft higher rated o-linemen, but to develop ones from later in the draft. That strategy is hurting us now.

I don't think their is a single inside starting lineman on this team that is good. They are all below average IMO. Noteboom and Havenstein are the only talents right now. Even 100% healthy this is not a good OL. Maybe they will get better in time but I'm not high on Edwards, Blythe, Evans or Allen.

What about Alaric Jackson? I thought he's played his way into a job.

I concur Jackson has answered the call, Bobby Evans has not. They need to go with somebody else and cut ties with Evans IMHO.

We're down the third stringers and backups and, sadly, have played arguably the best defensive fronts in the NFL lately in SF and Dallas. With more on the way (SF again and Tampa Bay).

Not a good time in the schedule to have all these o-line injuries.

I am not sure a closed door meeting is the answer. Others have hit the nail on the head. I am sure they are trying. They just aren't good enough to block the Pro Bowl defenders opposite them.

Jourdan has hinted at as much and the changes may very well be exactly what you suggest. Certainly can't be any worse than the last couple of weeks.

Thing is, Aboushi and Skura have needed time to acclimate to the team and system. The fact we were able to add them indicates the issues are being acknowledged and addressed as they are each and every season when issues arise.

No one is prepared for the loss of so many players in a single position group. That said, Evans should have received his last chance by now. He appears to be a detriment to the team wherever he is used. Just need to find a lineman who can be mostly functional.

I think it's also up to McVay to tailor the O to reflect the current talent (or lack there of) across the OL...Roll outs, quicker developing routs...stuff like that

I just suggested as much in another thread.

Our temporary ‘solutions’ are already on the team and have furiously been studying the playbook.

I see light at the end of this tunnel.

I think a meeting can be a good thing, depending on the content. After getting there asses beat in 2 consecutive weeks, they probably are real down on themselves. Many are not used to that. They need a kick in the ass and a reminder that they have a chance to get it right next week. To look at themselves and refocus. Some of what is happening is total miss communication. Edwards and kolone are a big part of that. A meeting can help put perspective on things as well.

All that being said, it still might look the same on the field.

I remember being told something for saying Evans wasn't good at all (used the s word). I wasn't hating on the man, but he is not a NFL caliber player at all in my eyes or many others based on how he has performed.
