yes we should all be thankful for the sb win last year. i just keep having the thought creep into my mind that if we had not made all those trades that cost us so many high draft pick that we might have won a sb and had solid young inexpensive core of players right now. after all, goff did get us to a sb. i just can't help but think if we are so good at hitting late round picks that we surely would have hit a pro bowler or two if we had all those high picks. also if we did hit on some of those picks, they would be cheap for 4 or 5 years.i am thankful for sb we did win after all a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush (no not that kind of bush).

Nah definitely not willing to go there we see teams do it every year and it gets them nowhere. We identified our 2 weaknesses and went out added the two pieces it's what got us the Superbowl. I expect changes to the OL vs Carolina. Skura will replace Kolone at C and Aboushi will replace Evans at LG>

This needs to happen, they literally can't be any worse. Their experience alone can help the line out as a whole.

After winning SB 56, I don't feel like criticizing McVay or Snead is fair. Yes, I think they counted on not having so many injuries on the OL and our bench is short but I think they'll work it out.

The whiners were 2-4 last season and rat boy dug them out of the hole. McVay is a better coach than rat boy.

I don't disagree with the assessment of the coaching but I would say also---at great pains---the Niner roster is better and was last year too.

They've lost players this year also and are still beating the shit out of people on defense for instance...

yeah i agree that sb win was great. i guess i am kind of weird because i just cant help but wonder what would have been had we not traded away all those picks. i guess i am old school after all they used to say you build championship teams thought the draft . but you are right the sure sb is better than a maybe sb. just curious don't you ever wonder what might have been.

Normally I'd say of course but in this case to wonder that I need to delete the Superbowl so it's not even a blip. Had we not won last year than for sure. So to answer the question definitely not.

I'll gladly take a super bowl win which puts us into the 2 super bowl titles club. After 5 years of 6-10 under Jeff Fisher, it feels amazing.

Yeah, we got our struggles and while the bye seemed like it came too early, it might be just what the Rams needed. Hopefully we dispatch dysfunctional Carolina then we get a bye to heal up and get ready for our rematch with rat boy and the whiners.

Yup. Most of the guys outside of Hav and Note are playing for contracts and careers. They are all highly motivated. They are just either never going to be that good or are sorely lacking in experience. Maybe both.

Injuries are the problem not mindset.

I don't think he means mindset in terms of desire or try hard.
I think he means focus and execution and the moment not being too big.
In my limited sports time Ive only been apart of players only closed door meetings a couple of times.....both times, it was brutal honesty.
It was a get real moment.
Hopefully Hav (who can certainly point some fingers at himself) is on to something here.

McVay and Snead paid too much attention on getting the “glitter” players. Position players that gets the most attention. They forgot about the blue collar players that make the offense work.

Noteboom/Edwards/Allen/Shelton/Havenstein.....thats a solid line.
They resigned Noteboom, Allen and Shelton.
Kept the group as in tact as they could.
Frankly, I like Shelton at his price more than Corbett at his.
The pundits talk about the Rams being "top heavy" with contract and that is true. However, I would like to see any team have third stringers and guys signed from PS filling 3 OL spots and not have their offense struggle.

Even without the injuries , the starting 5 was below average.
Everyone wanted paid before the season started , so there’s no money for quality oline signings.
Now it’s showing.

Whitworth/Edwards/Allen/Corbett/Havenstein
Noteboom/Edwards/Allen/Shelton/Havenstein

Is there really that much of a difference? I like Shelton better than Corbett actually.
The only question was Noteboom. Based on his play, including some big games, there was not a huge reason to worry about him.
The line is not off the pace of last years line......the starting line. Multiple injures at a position group that has to play as a unit.....that is hard to overcome.

I just wish we had a line of fucking hogs, like the 80's Redskins. They could pass block just fine, and did, with them running a version of the Coryell offense. But they could absolutely run it down your throat too, with the OL delivering repeated beatdowns on opposing DLs.

I think it's also up to McVay to tailor the O to reflect the current talent (or lack there of) across the OL...Roll outs, quicker developing routs...stuff like that

I subscribe to this as well. Rat Boy's game plan vs us barely required an OL at ALL, haha. Ball was out so so fast, they barely had to hold blocks. I know we have different personnel, but sheesh. You have to have flexibility to scheme for this type of situation. Love McVay, but not as much as he loves his 11 personnel....
