With Noteboom as Whitworth's chief back-up at LT, I guess I'll have to assume that Alaric Jackson has been receiving the bulk of his season long practicing snaps at RT after playing as our starting LT during the 4 pre-season games. Being 12 weeks into the season now, he could/should have surpassed both Evans & Anchrum on the depth chart. I'm hoping to see Noteboom back with last week's jumbo OL/TE role as a key blocker.

OUCH! The hope is the rest of the team can step up knowing they are severely undermanned.

All week I bet we had the jumbo 6-OL personnel sets in this gameplan, similar to last week given how effective it was. Throw that out the window now. Or Evans has to come in and play with no reps.
Actually it might make more sense to use it now.

IIRC the last time I saw Alaric Jackson he was at RT and got whipped for a sack... I think it was on Wolford near the end of the Texans game...?

Just remember thinking AJ wasn't ready. Hoping Boom is our swing tackle backup on both sides, and Boom starts at RT.

Oh man the hits keep coming. At this stage I would stick Evans in at RT and Keep Boom in the heavy sets. I would run the ball a whole lot in this game. Or flip them if you think they know the blocking assignments.

He may not be ready, I have no way of knowing, but he still may be more ready than Evans or Anchrum for a starting RT role. Alaric Jackson has had 9 total regular season snaps in his NFL career, all in that Houston game you bring up when he, Wolford and several other offensive players substituted in late for a game thought to be well won. Wolford also had 9 snaps in the Texans game, going 1 for 2 while taking a sack, but I'm not ready to criticize a couple players coming in cold with other subs on their 9 snap initiation.
I'd be surprised to see Noteboom starting at RT, I'm not sure he has ever played the position in the NFL anyway, although what really scares me off of him is a potential injury as that would leave us with nothing behind Whitworth for the remainder of the season and through the play-offs.

Summoning some realism, common sense tells me that a Rams' win might be one of the biggest upsets of the season but everybody laughed at Joe Namath long before many of you here were born...ANY GIVEN SUNDAY IS REAL...BRING IT ON !! (I wasn't quoting anything, so I don't know why Ram 65 came up there..

Maybe the silver lining here is that, with a patchwork OL, McVay might use a more patient, less risky, approach. If the defense holds up its end of the bargain, that could be a winning formula.

I was wondering if I was remembering wrong.. nope.

The Rams problems in this game were execution, far more than scheme. Maxx Williams torched them.. the guy Johnson would normally be on.. along with AJ Green against Long. The Rams played plenty of press in this game as well as off coverage.. like they did last year.

I'm going to keep going back to personnel as the biggest challenge for the D right now. Long was supposed to be a Hill replacement and Rapp was supposed to be a Johnson replacement. They've created two gaping holes in our coverage.

I can't argue that the secondary lost a couple of key guys and of course it makes a difference, but you have to also agree that Morris's approach is has been very suspect as well.

It is totally up to the game plan. How the coaches deploy the reserves. The team has to play with resolve and resilients. The play callers have got to stop panicking on offense when they fall behind and on D put Ramsey on a man and ware him out. They have to get pressure on the Qb that he can't scramble away from and can't see over the bigger D line and stop the running game. They can do this. they have to play team D and stop giving up 3rd down so easily.
