You can’t make this up...Aside from their QB, who may be getting Bulgerized, the Raiders are doing a total rebuild. Mack is a great player, but is not as good as Donald, who is a lock for the HOF, imo. Looks like Gruden is gonna be picking in the Top 10 for years to come.

For the record the Bears have over $10 million in cap space at the top 51 mark right now so they can boost his pay this year quite a bit.

This is a great move for the Chicago Bears and usually not the type of organization that makes a move of this magnitude and will also have to pay Mack quite a bit, good for them. Today I am very thankful for Enos Stanley Kroenke...Raiders owner Mark Davis reminds me of Georgia Frontiere being penny wise and dollar foolish.

Davis paid quite a bit for Gruden and did not want to pay one of the best defensive players the Raiders have had since Howie Long. I applaud Chicago, they are trying to get better and now their defense has the second best defensive player in the NFC.
Sam Farmer at the LA Times wrote a great article about Kroenke’s activities in LA. He has been building a state of the art stadium, as he promised. The sorry team he brought to LA has been transformed into the hottest sports franchise in LA, running neck and neck with Lebron’s Lakers and the Dodgers. He’s also shelling out an incredible amount of guaranteed money for core players, unlike the NFL poor like Mark Davis. Free Agents want to come here, because Kronke actually pays the dough. the best hire is Sean McVay by Silent Stan. I have not been very complimentary of him, but you have to give the devil his due, he is delivering in LA.

To me he's an Angel....Although I'm a Dodger, but anyway the transformation has been amazing throughout the organization including General Manager Les Snead, who many felt should have been fired too. Now the Los Angeles Rams have to go out and prove they are the franchise on the rise and here's hoping all of us will be partying like it's 1999.

And yes it's easy and fun to make fun of the Raiders and especially their fans but this isn't nearly as bad of a deal as I'm making it out to be depending on who the player moved is and what they do with the picks. This isn't a team that's been great at drafting in the past so both those picks they get could be busts. But the Raiders, mostly Gruden it seems, didn't feel it was good for the franchise to pay Mack that and he loaded up on some draft capital and saved cap space.

And for those that were glad to not have to face Mack in week 1 now get a bit of karma because we have to face him in Chicago after he's had time to get acclimated to a very good defensive coordinators scheme in Vic Fangio. Mack himself just by DC has upgraded his prospects.

Ugh....Playing at Chicago in December.....What is it with people from Chicago that they're so happy to have been born there? I meet so many people who can't wait to tell me they're from Chicago and when I meet them, they're living anywhere but Chicago.

Which is ironic considering that Reggie McKenzie their GM was supposed to be a whiz at draft picks. He did pick Khalil Mack though so there's that.

Couple years ago, McKenzie was the toast of the town with picks like Mack, Cooper, Carr, etc....Again, Raiders did not have the money and again, I'm so glad, it's not the Rams. Many reports of the 80's Rams who could not cash their checks because there was not enough money. In all fairness, the Ram franchise was cash poor until their move to St. Louis and the Raiders appear to be in the same situation before their move to Vegas.

Sorry, the Raider’s get no breaks from me after they invaded LA and won a Super Bowl there..Now we are cursed with former Rams fans, who became Raiders fans after they won a Super Bowl in LA. Screw their fan base and Al Davis and the Raiders FOREVER, for doing that.

Problem is you have to have all of the guaranteed money up front so a cash poor team like the Raiders might not be able to sign someone like Mack and any other contract they want to do, Kroenke on the other hand seems to have no problem putting up a few hundred mil in guaranteed money.

This bores me. It has no sizzle. I was hoping for him to go high profile. Nothing exciting about the Bears. I bet they paid out the ass.

Bears had an underrated D before this move. Leonard Floyd did great as a rookie, and progressing last year too before he and other defenders got hurt. Plus they have Roquan Smith and now Khalil Mack. And a decent secondary.

Plus on O they have weapons, Mitch Trubisky just needs to progress. If he does that the Bears can be a wild card team. Yes I said it. Not saying they will go 12-4 or something crazy like that, but 9 or 10 games is definitely doable.
