On the last play of the game, the Ravens pulled a stunt w/their version of a hook & ladder...

Around their own 30 yd line a WR catches a short pass and then tosses it back a few yards to another WR.
Marquis Brown is the lucky recipient of the ball, as DONALD is bearing down and it is no wonder that Brown fumbled it away...
Is there anything more terrifying than that BAD MAN bringing the lumber, totally blind-sided to you, a second after you get the ball???!!!

Any of us mere mortals, would be in the ER 30 minutes later with 8 cracked ribs...... :laugh4:

I'm just glad they didn't try for a hail mary and draw a DPI.
I doubt they wanted the QB holding the ball that long with our rush. But yeah I was afraid of PI too there with that crew.

AD crushed him. After seeing the lame call against Sony for a legal block, my instant reaction to ADs hit was, "there better not be a flag!"

But crack back blocks are illegal. Sony blocked back towards the line of scrimmage while the player was running away from there. Just stand in his way. Don't players know the rules?

I agree - I hated the call but it was the right call

Why do you think? It wasn’t a crack back or blind side.
Wow, because of your comment I went to find the definition of a crack back and ended up going through the NFL's video rule book. I really don't think it was a crack back block. But, I looked at a lot of other rules and I'm stunned. The video on illegal blocks to the back was ridiculous.

Worst of all is the video on holding. The rule defines holding as using the arms or hands to restrict or alter the path of a defensive player. That is literally an offensive lineman's job. That rule needs to be changed.

if you are facing your own end zone. you aren't allowed to throw a block like that
I’ll have to watch it again. I thought he hit him more from the side.

I actually thought the penalty was because he led with his helmet and it hit the defenders helmet. I agree with the announcers that just running interference was all that was necessary but at the speed that it all occurred I think it would be difficult to make that split second decision, especially for a runningback that is used to handling rushers in pass defense. Michel delivers some nice hits in that role.

Yep by the rules the offensive linemen should block like these guys.

Michel blocked back towards the middle of the field, not the line of scrimmage. Our guy bounced outside and was running up the sideline, and Michel turned around and blocked the guy that was chasing the play.

Wow that's the best horn I've seen on those electric football men, ever.

I used to block that way in HS too, the rules changed that same year in NFL to allow extending, not sure about college or HS.

I cheered Sony's block, cried bullshit like many of you on the penalty, then figured yeah he could've eased up a bit and just got in his way.

That last play seemed like the Ravens giving up. I was relieved they didn't try a hail mary.

Exactly. I didn’t think he turned and blocked toward the goal line. Unless the rule states that he can’t even block at an angle toward the goal line I disagree with the penalty. But that would mean that a player can only block perpendicular to the field because blocking the other way would be a block in the back.

It looked like a Vinobitch screw up to me.

The first pic I found of those electric figures just happened to be of the Rams. Blue and white uniforms too. Who was the left guard back in those days? Tom Mack?
