I'm on Baker's side.

#1 Jackson chose Tyrod as starter. Bad decision.

#2 In the preseason, Jackson calls all the qbs into his office except Tyrod. He tells them Tyrod will be the starter. Then, he looks at Baker and says (I kid you not), "Congratulations Baker, you've won the backup role!". If that's not insulting, then what is? Congrats...you lose!

Jackson is a shit leader. Baker shouldn't have even shook his hand!

1. Hue is a god awful coach in my opinion, shouldn't get another job in the NFL.

2. There's a lot of false speculation on what Hue said about Baker, and its a shame no one does their research but only follows a narrative.

3. This shows that Baker is not a leader. This is a god damn shit storm. This isn't about being fake, or being loyal. This is, and has always been about the same person it always is about; Baker Mayfield. Baker is about Baker, and we are going to see that as soon as he starts to struggle again. Quote me on that. Dude hasn't played but 5 games, and already he's caused a media shit storm. This is a nightmare for any organization. This could blow up in his face, much like Cam Newtons actions and comments blew up in his face.I love competitive nature, and I love passion. That's not what this was, its fake alpha dog mentality and an outcry for attention. Grow the f*ck up.

Has Goff said anything about Fisher since he was let go? He literally had the bust label on him because of the inept coaching staff during Fisher's tenure; yet he never had anything bad to say about him. Micheal Brocker's said he loves coach Fish, but there is accountability in the locker room that wasn't there during Fisher's tenure. Still not throwing another coach under the bus. I liked Baker before this incident, even laughed at his crotch grab. But to sit there and criticize Hue, over a similar move you made in college; and pull a stunt like he did? This is disgusting, and shows a lack of maturity on his part. I can only hope he grows from this point on.

Hue had no aptitude for being a HC. I don't know how much control he had over the draft and FA acquisitions, but he was given every opportunity to create a good team, and he didn't. In the article, he said that he wanted a coordinator job.
So he's probably getting paid from the Browns for the whole year after his firing, and then he dumps that to be a coordinator (or whatever) for the enemy? This is within weeks of being fired. He has every right to get a job I guess, but it was a total dyck move. If I was a member of the Browns, I wouldn't respect him for it, I know I don't respect that move myself.

PS: I'll add that the Browns stuck with Hue longer than almost any other team (besides maybe the Rams with Fisher....lol) would. That sort of treatment of him was better than he deserved, and then he stabs them in the back a few weeks later. F*ck Hue Jackson

I woulda loved for fisher to have gone to the niners instead of shanihan. That would be 2 probable wins a year.

Hopefully he'll be in the running if Pete caroll ever leaves Seattle.

Yeah, it's the timing I'm talking about and not about the worth of his coaching to the enemy

I dont think theres anything wrong with him not liking/hating Hue, but I think the whole "he left us and went and joined the enemy" reasoning is such bullshit. Dude got a job offer and took it. theres not many job opportunities out there so I dont get being upset about accepting one even with rival. players have done it plenty of times too, no big deal imo.

plus Baker left texas Tech and went to Oklahoma, another big 12 school.

Hue is probably in denial, he wanted to get out there and stay in the news, hoping for his next coaching or tv gig. He said stuff about not having his players and not running his system which no one bought.
Mayfield didn’t appreciate Hue going to Cincinnati and said so, which is fine. But then he talks about him being fake and losing 30 games. Mayfield seems like one of those guys who go out of their way to be a douche, then say they’re just being honest or “real.” Remember when he was at OU, planting the flag at Ohio st. and grabbing his junk at the KU bench. He’s not going to let any slight go, real or imagined. Kansas has been the worst team in the big 12 for several years and this game was probably over at the coin toss. The KU players decided to snub Mayfield and not shake hands. Mayfield spent the rest of the afternoon telling the KU players how crappy their team was and topped it off with the crotch grab at the bench. This guy's a heisman trophy candidate but he can’t resist going at it with the worst team in the league.
Mayfield had to walk on and ended up the #1 pick, that’s quite an accomplishment and maybe he’s one of those guys who feeds off doubters, but he’s only played in a handful of games and he’s talkin shit on a guy on his way out the door. Just cuz you’re “being yourself” doesn’t mean you’re not being a dick.

freak Hue Jackson. Dude has no business near a football field. Horrible coach, bad leader and a smug freak. He means nothing to the projectory of Mayfields career. He’s going to be very good and doesn’t need anything to do with Jackson. Good on him for cutting the negative out of his life.
He had been a solid OC in the past.

1. This is sports/entertainment. I think it adds to the entertainment. Yeah, I'm not so sure that authorities on "class" or "lack of class" probably don't fit better in the real world, than the sports world.

2. I'm pretty sure this plays differently inside, among the Browns faithful, than outside. I think there are Browns fans that remember the Sam Wyche deal.

3. Whatever Baker did/said doesn't rise nearly to the level of Dana White's recent scorching of Oscar de la hoya

People over think these things we dont know the relationship they had behind closed doors. Its Baker's right to treat Jackson however he wants now that they are not on the same team. I'm sure Baker will mature with age but to me it's not a big deal. People just want to make a big deal over everything, give it a break.

That's the kicker to this ordeal. Here he is all butthurt over a suppossed betrayal, yet given the same loyalty context that he's established here, what he did in college was worse. He wasn't forced out.

If you want to upgrade to a better program that's your poragative, but afterward, when your coach is fired and accepts the only offer on the table, maybe keep your pie hole shut.

The fact that this level of hypocracy is lost on him says a lot.

I don't know why some people think that players are not allowed to have an opinion and express it. They are adults as much as all of us, not children who have to show insane respect to anyone they meet.

Honestly I understand being sour at a coach going straight to a division rival. If I was a player I would not like that one bit. And honestly Jackson has no business being sour against the Brown's administration, they gave him way more time than they should have in my opinion.

I'm with Mayfield on that one and I seriously hope he gets the Browns out of the hole and that maybe they could have a winning season next year.

Well let's just say that BM was posting on this board, and he started slinging shit and calling names.

You know what would happen? He would get warned and maybe a time out. Which is exactly what should happen.

Well the Browns with BM and Gregg Williams throw In the current OC's comments on ESPN looks like the Browns are headed to the SB next year. Yea right. Lol.

So Hugh took a job. Smart move. BM doesn't like it? Tough shit. Hope he doesn't ever get cut or traded.

I love Baker.

Hue is a clown who we all got to see on Hardknocks. Him doing the “I’m the one in the coach seat” to Haley was disgusting.
I remember watching that and thinking...wow, what an ego. He is talking that shit to GDub and Haley, who themselves were more successful head coaches than Jackson. I knew that would come back to haunt him. What a jackass.

Well, first let me confess to being a big Sooner fan. And a Baker Mayfield fan by extension.

Mayfield has some maturity issues, no doubt. But he has tons of talent and “want to”, doesn’t he? So much fun to watch and I predict that he will enjoy a fine NFL career.

He was drafted into a shitstorm of an organization, just like Goff. Clearly, Goff has handled things in a more professional manner. I’ve never heard Goff say anything outright negative about Fisher.

Hopefully, the Browns can and will hire an up and coming HC for that talented roster that they’ve been putting together. Only then can they all live happily ever after. Lol.

Just for the record. I stated in my original post that I knew that players had opinions and should speak freely. I think that everyone should have the freedom to speak. Even more specifically when there are multiple mics in your face every day. I admit. It is entertaining, but the whole thing just sounds like he is talking out of turn. It might just be a problem with me, but I would have handled myself differently.

I also know that Hue Jackson's record as a head coach was abysmal, but that wasn't my point either. I know you were not saying that @Ramowl. However the ownership has to be called into question before it is all said and done, and that is a whole other post.

I'm on Baker's side.

Me as well.

I don't know why some people think that players are not allowed to have an opinion and express it.

LOL it's the "shut up and dribble" mentality.

Actors, athletes and other famous people seem to draw fire when they express an opinion that isn't bland, or boring or politically correct.

People tend to forget that they are also people who have feelings about things and opinions and think about life and other things..........just like every other human being who has ever lived and ever will live.

Plus this is the sports media blowing shit out of proportion once again. Sports media is terrible these days, just horrible. We see journalism in general doing great work, writers and reporters doing there jobs well under intense pressure these days. Sports journalists? They fucking mail it in, or just repeat shit from another radio show. Yes there are exceptions and some great talents out there I won't deny that. But this niche is littered with garbage and horseshit for the most part.

Baker Mayfield is the man. He's the future of this sport and he's really exciting to watch. I'll get shot down for this but one of the reasons Goff doesn't get much credit nationally (yet) is that he isn't a rah-rah guy. But this is a business and Baker is the product.

There's a thin line between arrogance and confidence and Baker walks that tightrope like a fucking gymnast.
