It's amazing...it's amazing we win at all given how many players and coaches get poached every fucking year.

Yeah QBs always seem to rise, it's that damn supply/demand effect. He's one of those guys who should be able to be a backup or maybe grow into something more than that. Good target for us and the Rams interviewed him.
I keep mocking he or Bennett but more like the 5th or 6th rd.

For a reasonable deal. I swear if they try and bring Wolf or Perkins back as a backup. I'm watching the Lions or Jags all season if they're on TV instead lol
I will still watch but I agree with your angst 100%. Neither of those guys have improved or shown enough when given the chance. No slight to them, the Rams need a competent back-up QB. Although I do watch roughly half the Lions games since the Goff trade.

I'll still watch the Rams every chance I get, I just have to be dramatic!

Not a big fan of Bennett. Wouldn't complain if we took him or anything but I much prefer Haener.

Any QB midrounds is going to have question marks of course. Haener has them too like his mechanics and whatnot. But I like his competitive streak, his quick reads, and he's got good pocket movement while keeping his eyes downfield.

Bennett had everything around him and his film puts me to sleep.

This game here was really something. Haener threw an INT when he didn't see the safety, fumbled it, but they were in the game because he was the QB and he willed them to the finish line:

I'm surprised it is only a 1 year deal and I did think he'd eclipse 10 mill.
Either way, he was never going to stay with the Rams, so good for him. I think its a decent place to play with the WR crew he has to work with there
Agree. He’s definitely placing the weight on his shoulders to succeed. I believe the recent SB and Stafford‘s shadow may be the reason he chose to move on.

Pounding the table for this guy. A little Goff-like..wouldn't be bad for a 4th rd pick if we can get one. I have seen him listed now in the top 100 to 120 range.

Yes, I’ve seen him play vs Penn State. He’s supposedly very intelligent. I also read that he had a lot of teams looking at him. A fourth rounder may be wishful thinking, especially if Pete Carrol thinks McVay is interested.

He was good for us wish him the best. He always wanted to be a starter and if he was a backup he might not have seen the field.

Stenson Bennett, welcome to the Rams. Just the type of guy they would draft for Staffords back up IMO. He's already old too so Stafford and him can discuss corded phones, VCR's, and cassette players together.
Oh heck no....
He's as short as Kyler Murray

If he doesn’t light it up his days of starting are done. If TB12 couldn’t produce with that team Baker definitely won’t. He could have benched it the same price one more year and probably had the keys to the starting QB on the rams.

As you said, could definitely work on his mechanics. There was a wide open receiver downfield for a likely TD early in the video and he Garrapoloed the throw because of lousy foot positioning. But as you say, a lot of competitiveness there.

I admit I wonder about his arm strength. For McVay that matters because he's not a typical WCO gameplanner in that he prefers vertical stretching of the field. But we're looking for a backup who has some upside not a day one starter. Also in the WCO if you process fast historically you can survive, plenty of examples on that starting with Montana.

So looking at the QBs this year I think the priorities are competitive drive and ability to get through reads and see options.
