Exactly I hate the whole message board "seniority" thing which seems to be really big on here
There’s generally a reason for it. If someone has posted here for many years and has a good history, they are certainly going to get the benefit of the doubt over someone with little or no real history with us. When we see someone new coming in guns a blazing, it puts up red flags to us.

In this case there was plenty of blame to go around but I’m talking generalities.

I personally think that many of the comments reflected "bad form." I really do not care about "status" because someone has been part of a group for a period of time. "Relative Newbie" has been a Rams fan for nearly 50 years as if even that matters. I decide to read and post sporadically, even back when the ClanRam was fairly active. And I was not calling out the "member base," just a select few that carry a fairly obvious "know it all" attitude. I've seen and read considerably worse, so go ahead and call me out all you want.
We're you in the Air Force and ever stationed at Fairchild AFB?

Who wants DRob paid? I think most of us don't think he'll be on the Rams. But hey he did almost double Tutu's career TD mark. Four TD's in 164 career targets and DRob had 7 in 64 targets this year. Also it's debatable if Tutu did more with less targets. Yards sure 62 more yards on 2 less targets but 7 less TD's is a chasm that those 62 yards can't close. I don't see anybody defending DRob though he isn't a #3 WR let alone a #2 like Tutu is being paid now. But I see a lot of people pointing to DRob calling him bad and saying that makes Tutu better.

Again for the 100th time I hope Tutu does great. But there isn't a lot of reasons to think he will.
You missed the most important metric when comparing their numbers: half the snaps for Tutu. His targets, receptions, or yards shouldn't have been in the same ballpark as DRobs with less than 50% of the snaps.

If, and yes there is risk with the projection, but if they're plugging him into a better fitting role and are committing to giving him the snaps, then there's a chance it can work out great. DRob is a JAG; we've seen his ceiling.

Part of that 10 mill is buying us optionality in the draft.

There's a scenario where we get guys in the draft that make him a part time starter again next year and people will bemoan that signing him was a mistake... and they're probably right... but signing him just allows the Rams to be a little more okay IF the draft doesn't come to them and less desperate to overpay there for a player.
I was just thinking the exact same thing regarding the Adams signing. Ideally, the Rams draft someone who shows the same qualities and then some (like a future).

With Atwell and Adams, the Rams have established the floor for the WR room. Should they draft a player who shows out as a rookie and/or Whittington makes a huge leap in contribution, the ceiling will be raised.

This is what I thought was going on last preseason when the Rams brought in White and DW to play CB. They were the floor and insurance vs a rookie who didn’t take off immediately or as it turned out, no CB was drafted.

Atwell: I'd like to test free agency and see what offers are out there.

The Rams: we are willing to offer you 10 million for one season.

Atwell: Where do I sign?
No blue font necessary. That would be a realistic scenario. Atwell would be looking for snaps as much as $$, but $10mil makes one “call off the search.”

I look at all the positive posts and stats regarding Tutu, and cant help but think that if he was signed off another team's roster, I would be really psyched to see what McVay could do with a guy like that.
But then I remember that he's been a Ram for 4 seasons now and cant imagine how all of these skills have been missed, and like some epiphany came over McVay that he now knows how to use him
Alas, unconditional faith in McVay/Snead has rewarded me quite a bit these last 8 years, no reason to doubt it now

Hey from your lips to God’s ears my friend. But to be real, Kupp and (much more so) Puka are the extreme rarest of selections. Both full-on ballers that are also smart, tough SOBs & performing high level right away.

Then you have the (more common) TuTu, Jacob Harris, VanJ, Everette, Reynolds, Pharoh type picks - all being 1st-4th round picks by Snead (& mcvay except for Pharoh)
As I agree with you it seems Snead has really got it together in recent years compared to his early year flops but alot of those can be attributed to Fisher having control of the final say.

Offensive philosophy change? Stay two steps ahead which the rams didn't feel like last year.

And I think ots for to assume rge two worst picks under Fisher were Austolin & Robinson and those were very likley Fisher picks.

Robinson played at Auburn with Fisher's son. And Austin screamed Fisher pick. Like a Pac Man Jones type in regards to a returner and then a gadget guy on offense, who he thought could be explosive even in his shitty offense.
