I completely get that the Tutu pick looks like a complete fail right now.
But..
If the Rams had drafted Humphrey, they would've ALSO wasted a second round pick... because Brian Allen is playing at an incredibly high level and was already on the roster.

I'm over the Creed Humphrey posts. Chiefs are struggling and we're supposed to care? Sheesh.

How about we focus on how much of an ass-kicker Allen is this year?
Or how good Jones looked in his first start?

This isn't directed at one poster.. but, it's just old already. All teams make mistakes.. hell.. a lot of teams passed on Humphrey that are a lot worse off at center than the Rams right now.

The book's not closed on Tutu.. except maybe as any type of kick returner. He looked solid as a receiver in the preseason. We'll see if he contributes somewhere down the road as many Rams picks end up doing.

I agree with much of the anger and frustration over DeSean Jackson, I wish he could remain on the Team.

I expect he will be gone in the coming hours ... probably by release. Just hope it does not hurt the Rams.

Jackson still has speed and big-play-ability. Even in limited snaps, it was evident. The TD vs Tampa; plus the short cross against the Bucs where he easily pulled-away from the CB for another 25 yards. The deep-pass against the Seahawks where Jackson came-back for the under-thrown, and then ran across the field for another 20 yards ... huge play in that game. Also had a couple long almost-TDs early in the season ... on one Stafford's arm was hit; and the other was an under-throw.

The Rams' offense may not "need" Jackson if everyone stays healthy but the season is a battle-of-attrition.

Jefferson can step-up if Kupp or Woods go-down but then who's the #3? I liked what Skowronek did on Sunday but it's expecting a lot for there to not be a significant drop-off if any of the top-three-WRs (Kupp, Woods or Jefferson) go down.

If the Rams wind-up releasing Jackson, I don't think there's cap-relief; and he will sign elsewhere. What if it's with one of the Rams' primary NFC-competitors? I don't want to see Aaron Rodgers throwing to DeSean Jackson in the Playoffs.
I agree with what you said. The guy can still fly. The frustration is simply because he's showing his true colors of being about himself.

Agree completely.

Just don't want Jackson to frustrate me again come the post-season.

Yeah Yeah it is directed primarily at me and one other poster.

And I will still say we should have gotten Creed for future purposes even if he didn't start this year.

Yes I like Brian Allen but I also like good depth behind the offensive line.

And that to me is not a wasted second round pick imho.

I just feel Tutu was too small and will never be able to stay healthy as a WR. And that is a wasted second round pick.

I wouldn't have minded taking a flyer at Tutu in the fifth or later rounds if he was still there.

It’s really not. There are podcasters and clickbait bloggers harping on it as well, I’m just over it.

Tutu looked good as a WR in preseason, so the book is out on that.

The repetitive nature of this conversation when the Rams are 7-1 and have one of the best lines in the NFL is just wearing on me. So, maybe I need to stop clicking on the posts.

Yeah I stated in another post that I liked his ability to catch the ball in preseason.

It's just the 150 lbs that just gets to me.

His legs look like twigs so it is no surprise that a defensive player can trip him up with an index finger.

If he gained 20 lbs with the bulk of it in his legs, then maybe I won't be so down on him.

Thing is I think the Atwell draft and getting DJax was more about committing to the deep ball and when McVay found he could run those routes with our top 3 guys in KUPP, Woods and Jefferson, the need for DJax diminished.

Also, don’t underestimate that McVay likely didn’t like DJax not fighting for that TD where he eased up and just cruised out of bounds.
I saw that too, but nobody really said anything so I figured maybe they had the angle on him so he just went out of bounds. But I was also thinking that real speed is supposed to erase those angles and maybe he could’ve turned the corner and scored.

Benny Sko looked pretty good as a possession receiver. Rochell has been learning on the fly, but still looks good. Earnest Jones is already starting. Funk played well until his injury. The others were assumed to need a year to develop when they were drafted. By all accounts they are all doing well. Only Atwell seems to be struggling but the jury is out on him until next year.

I think BBIII will probably begin to take snaps from Robinson after the bye. If he looks good then the Rams can release Robinson and save over $4M in cap to be used toward all the FAs they need to sign.

The bottom line is IMO no worries with this year's draft class.
I think Bobby Brown will be on the SJD/Gains plan. They spent the first 1-2 years developing an NFL body before getting significant snaps.

Personally... looking at his frame... I'm not sure there would be a lot of weight gained anyway.

He's a small dude. 10-15lbs makes him continue to be a small dude. :D
Tyreek Hill is listed as 5'10 185

Tarik Cohen is listed as 5'6 179 and plays HB

I think he can get to 175-180 without losing speed.

He did catch the ball in preseason but he got no YAC. Again a product of being so light a hand on him anywhere took him to the ground.

While there have been smallish players in the league most of them have much stronger lower bodies and quicker sudden change moves.

I haven’t seen anything from him like the moves Hill has.

He needs to change his twigs to at least a branch
