That's true but there were so much draft capital invested on the defensive side of the ball.The Fisher regime couldn’t score points. The defense was good enough.
The 2014 six-win-Rams were 16th in points allowed.
That Defense had five 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks and two 3rd rounders starting.
The 2016 four-win-Rams were 23rd in points allowed.
That Defense had five 1st round picks (counting Barron), one 2nd round pick and two 3rd rounders starting.
And, a lot of those guys were High first, second and third round draft choices.
I always thought those Defenses needed to be, and should have been, better than average-to-good.
