More than anything, I'm just in awe of what we have witnessed. The Rams winning the Super Bowl this year is not especially surprising since I felt they had a championship roster going into the season, which was bolstered by the acquisitions of Von Miller and OBJ. However, we did have our fair share of injuries along the way too. But as Colin Cowherd said, this team epitomizes the word "resilience". Through all the ups and downs, they managed to find a way. This team was mentally tough. When we got the ball back in the Super Bowl at the beginning of the final drive, I really felt confident that we would get the needed touchdown and take the lead. And when the defense got on the field afterward, I really felt confident they would get a stop to seal the win.
It's freaky how the last 6-7 minutes of the Super Bowl so closely parallel the same timeframe of the NFC championship. Rams get the ball back looking to get the go ahead score. Stafford drives them downfield. There is a great pass over the middle to Kupp that looks like the identical play (and result) in both games. The opposing D stiffens up a bit when we get in the red zone, but that works to our advantage as it ends up burning more clock. When we finally get the go-ahead score, we have less than two minutes. And a few plays after that, Aaron Donald gets his hands on the QB to force an errant throw that seals the game for us. Que Twilight Zone music.
Glad you had your confident optimism... for me, the last 3 games sent my heart rate through the roof
Ha! Tell me about it! You saw my Fitbit graphs so you must've gone through the same.
BTW, despite not working out, I, a 57 year-old man, burned just a touch under 5000 calories on Sunday. Being a Rams fan is great for controlling your weight!
