Well let’s look at what you’re speculating on. You have a corner that is playing well that is up for a contract and your other corner is an aging free agent so you’re debating whether you should sign the corner that’s playing well and only 26 years old because why??? It’s pretty simple. If Peters plays well and Wade wants him back the Rams will try to resign him no matter what prejudice the casual fan may have.
Is it prejudice for me to recognize that he's worn out the welcome of every team he's ever been on?

Everybody likes to play GM.... I do the same thing. I think that is what's great about the NFL. It's a year round sport and fans like to follow all aspects of their team from roster building to the actual games.

well Fantasy football allows you to do that too without having to be so harsh on our players in Horns - i mean can’t this wait? Really, it’s like game 2.

But yeah i guess you’re right cause we have like 4 contract speculation threads going right now.... i just think it’s a bit much

I don't. Listen to him speak. He is from Oakland and all about "where you from". Like it matters.
Pea brain hood rat.
And he hits like a chick. When is the last time he laid someone out ? "Me" first player. You can see him make "business decisions " all the time.
Just because someone talk/acts differently than you doesn't make them a "thug" or "punk"

Dude, wtf are you talking about? Gtfoh with that attitude. I'm not a Peters fan either, but you don't need to make sweeping generalizations in order to justify your opinion on him. smh

That guy wanted to kick that fans ass for heckling him. All he cared about was where "you from". If there were not cameras on him he would have.
I stand behind what I wrote. This guy is not worth giving long term dollars to.
Just wait, lots of season left for him to do something stupid.
You know, this is not texting.

Again you're jumping to conclusions. How do you know he wanted to beat the guy up? You dont, you're just making assumptions based on your personal dislike of the guy. You dont even know the Peter's and based on what we all know he doesn't fit the definition of a "thug/punk".
You shouldn't let personal bias cloud your judgment.
Rams slogan is "we not me" and I highly doubt mcvay or wade would put up with a player who goes against that.

I'll be honest in that I'd rather have Talib than Peters. But calling him a "hoodrat" goes too far.

.

i just can't get over the fact that he gave away a taunting penalty when the game should have been won.

littleton intercepts and runs the ball back to the panthers 10 yard line. instead of running to him and his teammates and celebrating with them he feels the need to run to caaam and dab in front of him.

c'mon man.

In Wade, McVay and Snead we trust.
Damn man have an opinion, that’s what we do on this board. Do you have a pair of opinions?

Yeah, I have an opinion-- it's in the post I quoted. That's why I quoted it. Read it if you'd like.

I think we're being a bit oversensitive with that. Peters identifies himself as a hood type dude with the rough edges and all that. So calling him on it is appropriate IMO.

2020 UFA Rams who deserve & has earned a new big pay raise Contract:

#1-Cory Littleton
#2-Dante Fowler Jr.
#3-Greg Zuerlein

2020 UFA Rams who deserve considerations of a 1 yr contract close to the same amount as in 2019:

#1- Andrew Whitworth
#2- Aqib Talib

2020 RFA Rams who will be needed to play a bigger role in 2020:

#1- Morgan Fox

2020 UFA Rams who should be offered a low moderate pay raise & low moderate cost contract:
#1- Austin Blythe
#2- Bryce Hager

Summary :

Marcus Peters best benefit to this Ram team in 2020.... is as a prospective candidate enabling the Rams to be awarded a 2021 third round compensation draft selection.

Micheal Brockers is a true professional veteran DL'er. He will receive numerous major big contract offers from other NFL teams who run a 43 defensive that the Rams simply can not match.

Totally understand
but I think the premise could have been more speculative toward whether or not his Taunting penalty is gonna overshadow his play on the field and whether or not he’s a liability going into this next game etc...

The things that annoys me is: 1. bashing of one of our own. 2. Offseason speculation after game 1

I'm not sure Peters is the best fit in Wade Phillip's system to merit a big payday with the Rams. Not to mention how he struggles with maintaining his composure.

Correct.

Sometimes my wife affectionately calls me a n***o (she is AA herself) when I've done or said something rather befitting the slang. It's all good, we both have our inner city roots, although myself certainly much more so.

The correct self-deprecating term that I would typically use for myself would actually be hoosier - no offense to people from Indiana, as this is a local term from the 1930s referencing non-union laborers that somehow sticks to this day as a derogatory term in St. Louis.

Neither are really offensive, depending on the context of course.

I suspect Blythe will move on. That is why you draft Bobby Evans, assuming Edwards moves to LT or LG.

I also do not see the Rams still going any outside FAs, too many of their own to resign.

So I could see a 3rd rounder for Peters. A 4th rounder for Bortles (He still may need to sign a prove it deal if he gets no PT this year)

Brockers will land a 5th and Blythe a 5th or 6th.

So heading into the 2020 off-season, this could be their draft capital. (They traded their own 5th for Fowler).

@gogoat1

Agree. He's a Ram and I support and root for ALL of our Rams.

He may not be my cup of tea (although I don't know him as a person off the field, so who knows?), I'm certainly never going to trash a member of the Rams and double certainly not during the season.

I would offer Talib a 2 year contract, front loaded but less than what he's getting now. I don't know if he'll merit a second year, or if he'll want one. That way he comes back while the Rams train up whomever they draft next year. If he wants to come back the following year, he likely would not be an every down type of player, so pay him less. But he's a smart player, and should still be valuable. If he spends much of this season on the IL, that would change, of course.
