So don't give them a reason to throw them. You know they're itching to get that flag out.

.
Yep, the Eagles DC, Jim Shwartz, summed up guys like Peters a few years ago when he said about a player that kept screwing up.. "If you keep doing dumbass things, eventually that makes you a dumbass"

Not comfortable with giving him a new deal but if he does, I hope there's a clause based on unsportsmanlike conduct

Lets hope we an rest Talib in some blowouts and see what we have in David Long Jr. Ultimately Long Jr will have a major say if we need to sign Peters

The one thing we have no clue...

How does Peters impact the locker room?

I could see him being a guy that could go either way, but if he’s pointed in the right direction... a locker room influencer. His swagger. His attitude. Again, could be positive.

What I like... he is the definition of “football player” to me. He’s got game. Maybe not HOF... But a baller. This is what he does.

I’ve always liked those types.

I'm one who likes Peters, but also acknowledges that he might not be in the Rams long term plans.

That said, I think that Fowler is a must keep. I said at the end of last season that with a full off-season, he was going to be a monster and it's clear that he's on the road to being just that.

If they start to overload the protection on the side with Fowler and AD, you can bet that Matthews will feast.

I'm very encouraged by Fowler's play. I just am not sure how we afford him if he plays as well as I think he will. He's gonna be hella expensive.

Peters plays with passion and brings a ton of energy to the defense. He has a ton of self confidence which is a must characteristic for an NFL CB. Oh, one more thing outside the penalty how many times did you hear his name called Sunday. I can't wait to see him play against Breeze and that Aints offense.

I'll give him one thing in his time with us thus far: he hasn't made one single excuse for poor play. Which is a big deal, that he can take accountability, because usually that's where you have issues with the problem types.

I simply don't think he'll respond well to a big paycheck. Pray that doesn't happen, take the round 3 pick IMO.

Remember when he got into it with a fan. Kept saying "where you from". He is one of those idiots who has a problem with you based on your "hood" or area code.
In other words, 'punk" or "thug".
He will be replaced and I will not be sad. McVay will do the right thing. The guy is not good enough to justify getting rid of a stud who just plays ball like Fowler.

If Talib has a good year I would prefer giving him a 2 yr cheaper deal, and draft a couple guys to replace Peters and eventually Talib.

Keep Fowler if he balls out. Still a young guy and you can't teach the ability he has to close on a passer.

If he has a good year he's not going to take a cheap 2 year deal. His agent will get a big payday for him.

Fowler is a player, and he's a keeper.

"Good" is relative for a 33 yr old CB. It's just staying healthy and being solid in his case.

Nobody is giving him more than than a 1 or 2 yr deal. Much like Weddle this year. And it would have to be a good team that can win now. Those type teams don't do dumb things like long-term deals for old players.

i would let him play out the year.

He was excellent in the playoffs and Super bowl. But may not be a fit in Wades man scheme.

plus where is all the interceptions he’s famous for that supposed to counter the breakdowns in coverage and overall bad attitude we have to deal with?

Jury still out. Show us something son.

Let him walk and pocket the comp pick. Bring back Talib and have him start next to Long next year while our high draft pick in 2020 learns from them. Then we have possibly two third round comp picks from Peters and Fowler.

Well Long jr. Has a long way to go. He didn't shine in preseason. If you're looking to replace someone you'd at least like to see him flash.
I'm more bummed we didn't keep Peterson. That guy is going to be a starting cb

That's a good point if they both have good seasons I'd rather keep Fowler

I don't care how well he plays. Giving him security would be a massive mistake.
Sounds like it’s personal for you especially not caring how he plays. The Rams will evaluate his play and take into count all aspects but if he’s playing well and the coaching staff is on board with him they will give him an extension based on that. Peters has had his share of struggles early last season and had a few issues with penalties but he played well down the stretch and in the playoffs. I saw the taunting penalty but I also saw antics in other games that didn’t get called. Not justifying the action but rather saying that Marcus Peters seems to have a target on his back. He will have to limit those kind of mental errors and distractions but I think he gets extended before seasons end. If not I can guarantee he will have plenty of suitors in free agency. Corner is a priority position in today’s NFL. You just don’t replace them easily.

I'm not saying long term..........I'm saying if he has a good year someone will pay up. Even if it's a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option.
