My goodness, Cowherd seems to be doing his whole show today on Luck. I get it we’re shocked. But the is more in sports and the NFL than this story.

So what do y'all think of Eli to the colts?

I think the Colts will bite the bullet since they knew there was a chance of this occurring and look to the draft. Trading for Manning just uses draft capital and cap space. It's not a good play for them IMO.

Keep in mind that Luck wasn't going to be available to start the season anyway because of the injury.

Sit still, attack the draft next year for a QB and while I don't know the roster or cap space the GM could look to add some weapons for the new kid coming in.

It's not the end of the world if the GM has ability.

Look what Snead did to this roster in a hurry.

The Colts, at least for this year, will ride with Brissett. They might sign a vet backup but they’re not trading for a starter.

Saw this today. Thought it was pretty clever.

Have we checked on Doug Gottlieb this morning?

The FS1 Radio Host and personality was absolutely buried by Carolina Panthers WR Torrey Smith after criticizing Andrew Luck and his reasoning behind retiring.

In a heavily polarizing tweet, Gottlieb proclaimed that Luck inferring that the constant rehab wearing on him was the “most millennial thing ever”.

Smith, who is known for never being afraid to speak on, came at Gottlieb with a particular event from his past, where Gottlieb stole credit cards in college in order to make and spend money without having to work.

Smith wasn’t the only notable person who came after Gottlieb, with Hall of Fame QB Troy Aikman sending this response tweet.

With Luck's retirement, Jared Goff's Free Agency value just went way, way up. Colt is going to throw some numbers out there to Goff's agent and force the Rams to match it and eventually trade Goff for draft picks.

Sounds far-fetched. But this could have happened.

I'd like to see Foles play for the Colt's.

Used-to-be Eli to the Colts. Yeah, that's rich.

Myopic Journalist storyline score: 9/10
Football Insider Realist score: 0/10

in my opinion Colts played this like Chess Masters, letting Luck keep his money was brilliant, and after some r&r wouldn't be surprised to see Luck back with Colts, midseason maybe, next season even more likely

I mean, I guess you're pretty fond of the feeling by now.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I'll proffer a theory. He just got married, is expecting his first child, is a multi-millionaire, and doesn't want to run the risk of being unable to fully enjoy both due to debilitating injury. $50M is more than enough to retire at 30 and enjoy the rest of your life.

And I know it's not a popular statement, but he doesn't owe an explanation to anyone.

Go get your groove on, Andy.
Agreed

Ahem.... They said Eli.
