Agreed. That Dolphins game was the "trap game" we always talk about. 9ers thought they could roll over them.
That said, I think I'd rather play Garopollo than Beathard. The kid just seems to give them a spark, dont need it coming at our expense

Yeah, I'm not buying that logic. In this day of age, teams really shouldn't be looking past anyone. Seen way too many of those. This wasn't an end of season game where one is just half assing it and getting ready for the playoffs. They were 2-2 and last in the division. They need to get every W, and can't be punting on a game.

Especially the Dolphins, they are a fighting team and have been since the end of last year.

Thought the same thing about the giants game, hope this doesn’t turn into a divisional trap game

Trap Game ? LMAO!!!

What it is is a must win game!! No what or if’s about it.There is no lossing this game if your The Rams.

As far as the Giants game,it was a victory. What else needed. The Bills game is the one you look back at.

Tampa Bay at home last year was a Killer & cost The Rams from being in the playoffs. Tyler Rapp needs to be better in Key situation.

The niners always cause trouble for our team. I would be happy with a win but this is a trap game. "Don't get cocky" lets get that run game going. That team went to a superbowl last year. They have some wins in them and they need this one. Go rams.

What does their injury list look like for this game? Because the Rams seem to be pretty healthy right now.

Its the niners. This is not a trap game. A trap game is when a team is looking past another team. The Rams are not doing that. If the rams loose it won't be because they are looking past the niners.

Niners have a real problem in their secondary. Here's what it looked like right before the Miami game according to Nick Wagoner. Maybe someone can clarify the current status?

"The San Francisco 49ers added two more players to their injured reserve list Saturday, one of which leaves them particularly thin at cornerback.

Nickelback K'Waun Williams is headed to injured reserve because of a sprained knee, which means he must miss at least the next three games. Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah (torn biceps) has also officially been added to injured reserve and will miss the rest of the season.

Williams joins starting cornerback Richard Sherman (calf) on IR and with Emmanuel Moseley out this week as he continues to deal with a concussion, the Niners will be without their top three cornerbacks for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins.

Backup cornerback Dontae Johnson has also been ruled out because of a groin injury and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon is listed as questionable as he continues to deal with a hamstring injury."

On Sunday the Niners were reduced to starting a practice squad guy (the other Brian Allen) at cb to disastrous effect. Now Sherman does not appear ready to come off IR.

Here's a later story this week: https://www.sfchronicle.com/49ers/article/49ers-running-low-on-cornerbacks-creating-15642579.php.

Niners' other problem is at QB. Garapollo was clearly not ready to come back from an ankle injury against Miami, then Shanahan benched him at halftime. Will Shanahan again try to play a <100% JG, this time against the Rams? Meanwhile he benched his former No. 2 Mullins two weeks ago. Last man standing is C.J. Beathard?

Not a pretty picture for the Niners. They are on the edge of cratering for this season and maybe needing a new qb.

I've heard that you should never bet against a prime time home team after they suffered a loss. Combine that with your hard it is to win 2 away games in a row...

I think we absolutely should win, but I'm concerned.

Agreed.

Just my opinion but if the Rams are going to the Super Bowl they're going to have to sweep or finish 5-1 in the West. Losing THIS game would be a big step back. Must win. Seattle is the threat.

Definitely reason to be concerned. Also consider that San Fran is coming off 2 losses in a row, and this would make 3 straight. All at home. Rams are the better team.
Like they always say, Any Given Sunday.

Or umm, Monday
Ugh... or Thursday
Dayum, there's those pesky Saturday games late too
Oh great, thanks to Covid, could be a Tuesday

Ok, Ok, Any Given day other than Wednesday or Friday dammit

This game does not worry me. The Dolphins put up 94 yards on the ground and 342 in the air. The long ball was there all day against the Niners backup secondary. McVay will run just enough to keep the DBs honest and have deep balls all day. These backups won't be able to handle the Rams confusing offense.

On defense the Dolphins were all over Garapolo. They got a good amount of pressure and no matter who is back there (I hope its Jimmy), Donald and friends should have several sack opportunities. They just have to watch for the Niners running game and short passes to the RBs. If Reeder is starting then this could be a problem. Heck, even Kiser isn't good at covering backs crossing the flats.
