I believe Stafford is better than Goff due primarily to his mobility but is he two first round picks better?

That is the question and I am very skeptical about that even after watching his play last year.
The price is the price. Anything less and we have no deal. So the question really isn’t about whether he’s worth that or not, because that’s subjective. We may have gotten some good players with those picks, or not. You never know. The question is whether or not McVay could get his chess piece. And he did. So clearly he’s worth that to McVay. And I think it’s pretty obvious by now that this staff likes established players who can fit the scheme over unproven college players who may or may not.

But if it helps, just pretend we got fined two first rounders by the NFL for being too awesome.

Both our late 1st round picks + our 3rd rounder are STILL less than what Carolina offered for Stafford. Pick 8 and their 4th rounder. That's not even taking into account how future picks are worth less than current year picks. This is all according to the NFL trade value chart which is what teams use. So we actually gave up a decent amount less than they offered. We offered Goff, they offered Bridgewater. But the thing to keep in mind and they key point here is Goff's contract. No one thought we could ever get out of that deal but Snead pulled it off. After next year we have no remaining dead cap money from Goff.

Regarding the players themselves and the talent.. to me its not even close. There is endless film of him dominating for a decade. Goff had 2 good years but still leads the NFL in turnovers since 2018.

You watched the film last year and are still skeptical? You know Detroit had the #32 ranked defense and the Rams had #1. Detroit was dead fucking last definitely. They also had no running game, the rams had the 10th best. The Rams have a ton of weapons. Detroit lost their #1 WR for almost the entire season. All those things, and Stafford still out performed Goff by a mile. Its crazy to me how people cant just watch the film in itself and see the talent difference.

I will wait until I watch the entire season to respond but so far I am only mildly impressed with Stafford after watching him for 2 1/2 games so far. He has made some really good throws but I have seen Goff make the same type of throws just not with the same strength.

This will be my last post on this until I watch all the games.

But I will say - i think Goff is worth way more than Bridgewater so he makes up for a lot of the stuff that Carolina was offering. But that's just my opinion.

All kidding aside, it’s amazing what time in the pocket, a deep threat, and a healthy Kupp will do for a QB.
Best of luck in Detroit.

i remember the improvement in warner when he started using a clove. i notice that goff with the bad thumb has started wearing a glove hope we don't regret trading him because of a stupid glove.

allen to mcvay for an avatar is somewhat revealing they both seem to like older veterans over rookies. did you notice the similarity between those two or just a couple of your favorites.

This might have been posted already, I couldn't find it amongst the few Goff threads out there...

I forgot what game it was but there was some goof on here saying ppl "are not real rams fans" in one of the gameday threads for not blindly praising Goff after one of the games where he shit the bed...

Whoever and wherever you are long lost goof...just know that I thought of you when I saw the Goff for Stafford trade go through...Hopefully you got a good deal on your Lion's jersey, lord knows it'll be on sale after the season is over...
