I always supported Jared Goff. I believed, and still believe, he has the potential to be a very good starting QB and, with the right team around him, a Champion.

That said, after the trade I found myself feeling like Tommy Lee Jones at the end of The Fugitive...

“It’s over. You know, I’m glad. I need the rest.”

Therein lies my confession. I was tired of defending Goff. The combination of the constant criticism, and Goff’s failure to silence those critics, put a strain on my nearly boundless optimism.

So now he’s gone, and I’m glad. At least for a while, I can go back to my primary role - Rams fan - rather than constantly having to defend one player.

I wish Goff well..but I’m glad he’s gone.

Never really was "pro" or "anti" Jared Goff. But I will admit I never was excited about him. But yeah I get it, arguing over a single player as important a position like QB is exhausting. I stopped caring. It was obvious he was holding the team back the past couple of years. What was the stat a week or so ago? That he had the most TOs second only Jamesis Wintson, who didn't even play this year? Ouch.

Yep, same. I wouldn't go as far to say I'm glad he's gone but I feel like getting Stafford lets the offense move forward as it had become stagnate by the end of the season. Plus, this is a much clearer picture of what to expect compared to if we went into training camp with an obviously uncomfortable QB situation between Goff and Wolford.

I've never understood arguing about players. Either you like someone or you don't. It doesn't change the fact that you have to deal with him on ur team until they change that.

Never liked Goff. He impressed me more than once and a few times I wondered....maybe he had potential. But the bad FAR outweighed the good.

I hear people shit on Havenstein and Shake my head. He is one of the better right tackles in the league. We have him on a solid deal. He is weak to speed. Always has been and has always worked out okay. But....bitches gonna bitch lol.

I am definitely tired of all the Goff threads. I mean, damn. Hes gone. Why am I not seeing more Stafford threads?

Thank you for saying such. I felt the same way!

I was at the Minn. game with @bubbaramfan three years ago when Goff was dropping dimes all over the field! How could you not defend that?

But now...it hurts but it is time to move on.

I still don’t understand the front office thinking of negativity to Goff and questioning whether he’ll still be in team next year. Seems counterproductive and hurting your position to trade him. I don’t buy into saying that it tells other FOs he’s available. You can do that without the media very easily behind the scenes. Hopefully it didn’t cost them. I just don’t like that aspect. Bad mouth in media to light a fire in the guy is ok- but not to trade him.

There is a certain irony in complaining about a topic while increasing its post count and bumping it to the top of the page.

Just sayin’

Try reading my first post again. It’s an epilogue, not an opening chapter of a sequel.
