Why was it surprising 2 point conversion?
Well, they could have had a tie, but went for all or nothing. I was surprised to see them line up going for two. I know it happened a couple times this last season in the nfl. I'm not a fan of risking an entire games work on one play. So, was surprised they nutted up and went for it. It was an awesome conversion, how the qb scrambled under pressure and then threw back all the way across the field for a completion.

Well, in the AAF there are no extra point kicks. They go for 2 after every TD.
It made last night interesting but I think they should kick XP instead

Oh my lord. I didn't know a 1 point kick didn't exist in AAF...lol

So, not knowing made it more exciting for me.

Johnny Football's on the waiver wire. I'm guessing Memphis will grab him with the injury to Mettenberger, unless for some reason they're happy with Hackenberg.

AAF in jeopardy of folding, says majority owner

The majority owner of the Alliance of American Football told USA Today Sportsthat league is in danger of folding without help from the National Football League Players Association.

Tom Dundon, who became the AAF's chairman last month, told USA Today Sports in a recent interview that the NFLPA is not cooperating with the AAF by refusing to allow the first-year league to use young NFL players.

"If the players union is not going to give us young players, we can't be a development league," Dundon told USA Today Sports. "We are looking at our options, one of which is discontinuing the league."

Dundon said he expects to make a decision about the league's future over the next two days.

The NFLPA had no official response to Dundon's comment, according to USA Today Sports. But an anonymous NFLPA official cited numerous concerns with allowing its players to play in the AAF, including potential injury risk and violations of the collective bargaining agreement.

Unsigned NFL players, including practice-squad players, are free to join the AAF at any time. But the AAF would need the NFLPA's cooperation to acquire a practice-squad player who currently is signed to a futures contract with an NFL team.

Dundon, who also owns the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes, made a $250 million investment in the AAF last month after the league reportedly was in danger of not making payroll.

The eight-team AAF, billed as a development league, kicked off the weekend following the Super Bowl. The league is seven games into its 10-game regular season.

The AAF will suspend all football operations
Posted by Mike Florio on April 2, 2019, 12:48 PM EDT

It’s not over. But it’s close.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Alliance of American Football will be suspending all football operations within the next few hours.

The league won’t be folding, yet. But it seems to be moving in that direction.

The move comes in the aftermath of ominous comments from Tom Dundon, who became majority owner of the AAF several weeks ago. Dundon committed $250 million in funding to the league, but he had the ability to pull funding, and he obviously has.

Last night, a source told PFT that the AAF needed roughly $20 million to get to the end of its first season. Instead, the season will end with two weeks left in the regular season, and with a four-team postseason that never comes to fruition.

I feel bad for the players and the coaches....Good concept and ratings were fine, but you have to be able to absorb losses initially and I guess the main investor had enough. Enjoyed some of the games and Mike Martz & Larry Marmie are out of football once again.

Well that was a good cup of coffee. I had low expectations but didn’t expect it to be THIS short lived.

People like the Change of Seasons.....After the Super Bowl, there is a bit of a hangover, but then Spring Training, March Madness, Baseball opening season and onto the NBA Playoffs. The NFL only has 16 games a year and that's great, same with college football, but with free agency, the draft & OTA's, there is plenty. The USFL signed some great football players with the likes of Herschel Walker, Steve Young & Reggie White and they still folded.

Even if you don't follow the other sports, you need the downtime, I tried to watch some of the games and there was some exciting football, but other things were priorities, with family, graduations etc...As much as many believe the more football the better, it's too much of a good thing.

The whole thing was almost like one of those ponzi schemes you hear about. Charlie Ebersal and Bill Polian lied to everyone from the beginning to get this league going. It was all lies. Charlie and Bill told everyone from the start that they had enough money to run this league for 3 years without making a cent in profit. That's the only way that they got some of the people to buy-in and work for them.

Now they have left countless people in all of the cities they had teams unpaid. People you wouldn't even think of. Here in Orlando... UCF is unpaid for the use of their stadium, the radio hosts and stations are unpaid, and even Steve Spurrier (hated by me) is saying he's not getting paid. This has affected many many people and businesses that most wouldn't imagine. And it was all because of the lies.

There are stories coming out now about how some of the players who were staying in hotels around the league because of where their teams were located getting booted out of their rooms because the hotels hadn't been paid and they now know that they never will. These players are forced to find their own way back to their homes now without getting paid either. They were talking about one of these players out on the West Coast somewhere dealing with this issue and how he was trying to figure out how he would be able to make the 18 hour drive back to his home with the $32 he had.

These bastards who took advantage of everyone from the start with their fucking lies need to be called out for the pieces of dog shit that they are. It should be criminal.

This was embarrassing..really sucks for the players and coaches that depended on this .

Not sure why "minor leauge " football wouldnt work .

The NBA g leauge and minor leauge baseball are huge and draw alot of fans . Yes the rosters are smaller and easier to fill but this can happen in foot ball also.

The NFL would need to put their logo on this for it to succeed . there is enough players to at least make 10 15 teams. Use this to rehab injured players, use suspended college players or guys that decide not to go to college. Let free agents play here and earn themselves a contract. The NFL logo would make this a completely different business. I didnt see many good players in the aaf, probably because their agents said absolutely not.

Maybe I'm being unrealistic and just want more football

XFL II should pack it in now.
Going to have a hard time getting interest now.
McMahon should have reached out and funded the league. Bought all the player contracts for next season.
