Saying the injuries are an excuse is something for coaches and players to say at press conferences and interviews. Except it's not really an excuse when it's a reality. This isn't a case where you lose a backup guard here or a linebacker there. When you lose your starter, backup, and backup to his backup at multiple spots, yeah that's a very legit reason. I mean hell, I had to zoom out on my 21" monitor to capture this screenshot:

And my "problem" (if you can even call it that) with your previous post is the "may be deep issues" comment. One bad season out of 6 and only now there are "issues"? So they were winning in spite of said issues? What makes you think this team, this organization, has these so called issues, and that they can't "fix it"? Getting guys back from injury will be a big part of that fixing. Isn't that what good orgs do, and aren't the Rams a good org?

12 guys on your screen shot. Almost 25% of a 53 man roster (not including ARob). Plus like you say "others in and out of the lineup"....Shelton, etc.. Saying injuries are an "excuse" is inaccurate. This has been the most bizarre year most of us have ever seen as far as injuries are concerned

All these injuries are starting to remind me of NBA teams these days. Now I'm not saying that the injuries are being faked like NBA teams "seem" to do nowadays... but it IS a thing. It's called Tanking.

We may not have started the year with this thought in mind... but after a certain number was reached... this strategy may have crept into some heads. Especially after looking at the LA NBA teams right across town.

This probably has some slight truth to it. I can imagine players have less incentive to play through their injuries or delay post season surgeries after a certain number was reached.

Just like the NBA teams... no team will never admit to this. So... there is no way to prove it.

The thought came to my mind several games back simply because of the extra large number of injuries and watching the play on the field.

And simply put... the extreme number of injuries on the O-Line would spell the end for all NFL teams. It's literally impossible to execute plays in that situation with any level of consistency.

Tampon's old coach McKay would approve of executing players though.

I think there are several reasons why there are so many injuries on the team this year. First and foremost, they started out with oft-injured players like Noteboom and Allen. Then guys try to make up the difference in how they are playing because they are behind and get killed for it, like Kupp and Stafford. Then there are the guys who try way too hard to make a play, as in Bruss and/or some of the other linemen. Finally, when you are winning, you feel confident and want to play. When you are losing, you are not confident, and sometimes get hurt by playing too timidly. JMO.

Just shut down Stafford and Kupp the rest of the season. Let Detroit have the number two overall pick. We owe them for letting us trade for Stafford. Our first pick will be number 34. Snead can parlay that into an extra day two pick or keep the pick. There's good value in the second round. Not as expensive as the first round but still some good talent left.

I feel like the injuries are a ridiculous anomaly that are uncontrollable.

I also believe that as a result of the injuries and having to go deep into the roster, that our coaches are more to blame for being 3-8 than being a pure depth/talent problem.

They have not adapted very well IMO. If you’re tasked to make a fancy turkey dinner but all you’ve got in the fridge is sliced sandwich meat and cheese….you need to make some incredible sandwiches instead of a shitty turkey dinner.

The offense didn’t have to be this bad, it just needed to be a lot more flexible and versatile in philosophy. McV’s comfort zone is far too narrow IMO. Learn to make incredible sandwiches

I'm not sure I want to trade away our pick at 34 if they are any playmakers there. If I were the Rams, I'd attack FA for offensive lineman and an edge then get best player available in the draft. So one example of a good player would be like a good pass rusher that falls, Bijan Robinson, or Jahmyr Gibbs, etc. We need juice.

I don't think its about draft picks. I think its about getting 100% healthy for next season. I think we underestimate how often guys play at like 70%. At this point in the season, it just isn't worth it. Get 100% and prepare for next season.
