Adrian Peterson reinstated effective Friday by NFL

Adrian Peterson is officially back in the NFL.
The NFL announced Thursday that Peterson has been reinstated effective Friday as an active NFL player and may participate in all scheduled activities with the Vikings. Peterson was placed on the Exempt/Commissioner Permission List on September 17 of 2014, and was officially eligible to come off the list on Wednesday.
The next natural question: Will Peterson show up to offseason workouts with Minnesota? With the NFL Draft just two weeks away, Peterson will be at the center of NFL discussions.
Around the NFL will have more on the story soon.

I really hope he's learned from this. I don't think he's as bad as he's made out to be.

Honest opinion.

Vikes have to make up with him. His contract is too big to let him walk and it hurts the team too much for him to stay away.

I hope he stays a Viking I don't want to see him playing for the Cardinals or Cowgirls.

Or you could just....you know, raise your kid without violence. So he doesn't raise his with violence and so on and so forth until it's bred out of society.

Couldn't disagree more. I'm not going to try and justify Peterson hitting his son, but there was no NFL policy regarding this and they basically suspended him for the entire year on the fly mostly because of public backlash when his charges came up right after two other NFL players were involved in wife beatings. Peterson was very upfront about the entire thing and has apologized multiple times for what he did. Let the man go back to doing what he does for a living.

I would rather he not go to a team the Rams have to face twice a season like the Cardinals.

Only after the backlash did Peterson apologize. He can go earn a living...somewhere other than the NFL. Same with Hardy, same with Ray McDonald, same with Rice, same with Junior Galette. The NFL is not a fate-given right. It is a privilege, and like all privileges, it can easily be taken away when one has proven that they do not deserve it.

If you beat a four-year-old with a switch, where do you think you'd be? Why should any celebrity be any different?

at the same time the privilege is not given out by the players but owners of football teams that have no issue with accepting his apology and moving on as long as he runs for over 1000 yards. Teams like AZ and Minn, and others. The privilege however easy it is to take away is equally easy to give to those who the owners deem worthy despite your or anyone's opinion of what they have done in the past or might do in the future

If you beat a 4 year old with a switch you'd be in a world of shite, but it wouldn't be spread across the national media for all to make judgements on - your shame would be extremely localized. So celebrity is in fact - in this case - absolutely no advantage and in fact is a complete detriment

I don't like what the guy has done and would not like him on my team but the NFL isn't, nor has ever been about choir boys

where have you been - this has been going on since.., forever

if you wanna call getting a few smacks on the butt with a wooden spoon violence then that's your freedom. what AP did was wrong but there's nothing wrong with a spanking when really needed. too many 'yes' parents is the problem with today's society and not enough no's

Yes. My dynasty fantasy teams are back in business. He absolutely screwed me last year in my money redraft league. What a waste of a high 1st round pick.

He might have 1 or 2 years left as a good rb but never equal to his pay IMO.
