What risk are you referring to? The shot? Him playing with the injury we still don't know the extent of? Him gutting it out through the pain? I just don't know what you are keying on from that video.
The Dr. mentioned the risk of a punctured lung if the needle goes in too far. He also mentions a player, I think a Charger, that had his lung punctured in this manner early this year.

I dunno... let’s keep in mind that this Doc has no other info except “X-ray negative for fracture.”

Ive had cracked rib cartilage myself, and it was incredibly painful for weeks... it hurt just to breathe, and a sneeze or a cough was agony. But granted I am mortal and AD is not.

My point is, yeah, we all trust AD to gut it out. And yeah, they will shoot him up with a painkiller. But a rib cartilage injury is no small thing.

And going a hundred miles an hour against 300-pound linemen with that injury? I can’t imagine.

And you know that the Olinemen will be aiming for his ribs.

Wasn't that injection done during the game by a doctor on the sideline? I don't recall. But yeah... I wasn't arguing as much as I didn't get what risk it we're talking about here. The doctor did say that is pretty rare.

Yeah, if he was working out with weights like AD does, he's fine.

Many of us have had rib issues, so we at least have a frame of reference.

If he'd really broken stuff, he might play, but he wouldn't be lifting. He might do the walkthrough, but he wouldn't be lifting.

I don't even know what... BUT HE WOULDN'T BE LIFTING!!!

This is exciting news. AD lifting means he's gonna be fine.

A few thoughts:

Near the end of the game when the camera panned to him, he looked fine and wasn't showing any pain. Hoping it simply looked worse than 1st thought.
Secondly we all the the double team guy is going to be aiming for the injury, so lets hope he can be a wrecking ball for a full 60 mins.
Thirdly have a video clip of "1979 Jack Youngblood playing on 1 leg" in the locker room
Lastly lucky for Rams Nation AD isn't a PUSSY!!!

Saw McVay's interview today he said Donald was working out in the weight room and he had no doubt he'd be ready to go
I am deeply sad to report I trust nothing health related from McVay these days after his gleeful admission about his last QB starter

IIRC, Donald went to the locker room twice after the injury. After the first time, he was still wincing. But after the second trip to the locker room, he returned looking fine and pain-free.

Yeah AD is a bad-ass. But I think the med staff gave him something to kill the pain.

Yeah I posted elsewhere, when Donald went down... that was among the few times I recall him grimace in pain.

I have my worries. But, maybe it was more minor than appeared... So, I’ll go with that!

It’s the playoffs. It’s mind over matter time. He will go all out until he can’t when it’s on the line. Look for him to take a play off from time to time if he’s hurting al all, trying to save it for crucial situations.

all i can say is that doctor that says donald will be unaffected by injury better be on call for rogers emergency room visit

I am no Doctor, but I don't think that there is Cartilage between the ribs like he is saying. The Cartilage connects the Ends of the ribs in the front to the Sternum. Not sure I would 100% trust this guy.
