BTW - didn't I hear about 100 pages ago that Mack and Donald have the same agent? The agent wouldn't let that game get played.
Yeah... it was said by someone but wasn't true.BTW - didn't I hear about 100 pages ago that Mack and Donald have the same agent? The agent wouldn't let that game get played.
Different agents, but I agree that it seems unlikely given that all players operate under a kind of bro code that they generally don't try to DNA rifle block each other to the benefit of ownership. But if you think the Rams FO wouldn't try it if AD was willing to play along, you are selling them short. If it were true i'd laugh my ass off (even though fan frustration would have been recognized as acceptable collateral damage).I find it really hard to believe that the Rams are playing grab ass with their franchise defensive player who they are getting ready to ink to the biggest money contract ever given to a defender just to screw with the week 1 opponent - who, by all accounts, hasn't even begun a negotiation.

Forget the Tuesday announcement. McVay has already said he'd need to have Donald for at least a week and half in practice before the first game. Tomorrow or Saturday gives him that, Tuesday does not. Now a press conference 4 or 5 days after Donald signs the contract might be a possibility. That's the only way there will be a Tuesday anything.I'm starting to wonder if the Tuesday announcement was timed to monkey wrench Mack's negotiations so that he doesnt sign quickly enough to suit up for the first game. (Under theory that mack is waiting for AD to set the market). Imagine if AD and Snead cut a deal 6 weeks ago and then just kept releasing rumors that AD was holding out for astronomical numbers knowing that Mack wouldn't sign until he figured out what AD actually gets. It's a conspiracy theory, but if they really struck a deal before preseason, I could see AD's agent playing along just to shortsheet Mack's agent.
Fun idea, but that would be awfully hard to pull off. If McVay were in the dark about this, I bet he wouldn't appreciate the huge amount of stress added to his life. On the other hand, if McVay were in on it, he'd sure have to brush up on his acting skills, being asked about it every day. Remember when McVay was up on stage and heard that Demoff got a phone call from AD's agent, and McVay excitedly asked, "Did they get Aaron done?"I'm starting to wonder if the Tuesday announcement was timed to monkey wrench Mack's negotiations so that he doesnt sign quickly enough to suit up for the first game. I'm sure the Rams would love for the Mack impasse to drag on, but it looks like that stalemate is dragging on well enough on its own!
Is that a small deal? Or is it just small compared to what we ourselves have been throwing around . We really have no idea what Donald's preferred number wasTyler Bearde's tweet makes no sense, for so many reasons.
Why would the Rams offer a 3 year deal for 55M, when they own AD's rights for 3 years for far less than that?
And do we really think AD would hold out this long for such a small deal?
We've now heard "reports" of an AD deal with an APY of 18M... or 20M...or 22M...or 24M.
So irritating when people tweet out unfounded rumors and gossip....
