Better yet, have the Rams playing in a close game in the opener. The Raiders start to build some momentum, then just like in Pro Wrestling the crowd starts looking around then up at the Jumbotron and AD comes running through the stands and onto the field in a big display of bravado. The crowd goes crazy and the Raiders begin to suddenly look like their assholes are puckering up. The refs make them line up and Snap the ball. AD runs off a string of three consecutive sacks to halt the Raiders momentum. They could play the John Cena theme in the back ground.
Why didn't you finish the story? Who wins? I feel like you left us hanging, like when a tv series gets unexpectedely cancelled after the third season.

I remember the days when we couldn't draft or sign decent Dlinemen in the Linehan and Spags days.....In the whole team, we are going to cut players who will make 53 man rosters elsewhere

i remember seasons not so long ago where ram fans were scouring nfl websites to see who was getting cut so the rams could sign them and get "better".

Word is Donald is going to sign. A fair contract

Word is...word life.

But it said FAIR. Not overpaying.

suh signed with miami for 19m...
von miller was given more..
donald will probably sign for 20m+.. and become the highest paid defensive player in history...

he's most likely not going to sign for 90m 6yrs... the rams would be doing cartwheels if that happened...

im guessing he signs for 5 yrs, 105m, with 75m guaranteed...

thats 21m per year and would be a FAIR contract...

So now begins the real time line of AD signing between our last Pre Season game and the start of the season. It is obvious he didn’t want to do the offseason bs as per last year. Excited to see him Brockers and Suh in the lineup together soon!

Suh's contract got restructured once to kick the cap hit down the line. And then he got dumped, even though it left the Dolphins with a big cap hit in future years - over $22 million the next two seasons. Von Miller's just got restructured so they could make moves. They also traded Talib away to save money. Do you really think either team would be anxious to sign such a contract again? If not, why on earth would you cite them as good examples for the Rams.

Yes, Donald will sign a huge contract. And the Rams will regret giving that much money to a defensive player. A fair contract would be tied into what a player actually contributes to winning, not based on what a few teams have given out and shortly regretted giving as major mistakes.

The Rams will benefit substantially in 2018 from bringing in AD - but it won't negatively affect their cap this year. It will start hurting them soon, and will be difficult to avoid if there is both a high average annual value and a high guaranteed amount. Fair would be a ridiculous amount guaranteed so he can compare to QBs, and an AAV that actually makes sense for a great defender in a league that favors the offense.

That’s be fair neither the Broncos nor Dolphins have a good QB. And by extension, their offenses are truly lacking as a whole. To top it off...their drafts have been quite unspectacular!

My point would be that there are many recipes for success. Funds can be allocated a number of ways so long as the team makes good personnel moves (drafts, mid-level roster spots), and has great coaching.

There is absolutely no reason for Donald to sign before next weekend. He will not play in the preseason, he can contribute (probably not dominate) in week 1 with minimal prep and he is entitled to his full salary (all preseason fines waived) with a huge signing bonus and guaranteed $$$ to set him up. If it does not happen by this weekend - then buckle up and brace for impact.

But there is absolutely no reason to not sign now, except to be even more ready for Week One vs Oakland, which is a pretty damn good reason!

any chance if he and / or his agent want some kind of language that "bumps" his contract above say Mack's (when its done) or whomever , so he stays top paid defensive player?
