My favorite play outside of the first play was the late 4th and 1 stop when Conner tried to rush up the middle.

Only 2 DTs were on the line and the Cards double-teamed each, trying to push them back.

Donald had 1 hand on the chest of each lineman and did not move. Conner ran into the back of them and he still did not budge, and then Von came in and got him down.

His run D needs to be respected more.

Yeah there's articles out there listing AD as third on the Defensive MVP list which is some horseshit. The guy gets doubled out the ass and puts up DE numbers. I get that the voters are tired of the same old guy but he's that fucking good.

The kid in Dallas is gonna win some of these in the future. But AD is still the best defensive player in this league.

I'll be honest, it's EXTREMELY difficult to not take Aaron Donald for granted. We're so blessed and lucky to watch this every week that we just expect it.

3I think perhaps some people are seeing the impact of the rest of our defense somewhat nullifying AD's ability to reck a game and misinterpreting it for AD's decline. Those 2 step drops to the uncovered middle of our defense take the "ball out of his hands" if you will. If you look at the data, he is just as dominant as he has been in years past. Just because he is not having the best year of his career, doesn't mean he is declining it's just that even he can't put up 20 sacks every year. his performance has been on par with most of his career and just as dominant.

AD99 can get 20+ sacks every single year if the officials stop screwing around and call all the holding. The only other player I have ever seen approach AD in being held was The Mighty Quinn who had to endure endless chokeholds.

Like @JonRam99 pointed out Gaines sitting there which much more traffic behind him than above. Boy has he stepped it up and now is an asset against both the run and pass.
