Aaron Donald is the best interior lineman ever.
Reggie White was close and awesome but you never saw him get double and triple teamed like AD does.
Every time Reggie white did his famous forklift move he didn’t have another o lineman holding him or punching him in the ribs like AD does every play.

I'm old enough to see some great ones--including Merlin Olsen among others. For my money I've never seen anybody as dominant as Aaron Donald. He's a game changer-a one-man wrecking crew. Most importantly, he makes everybody around him better players and not only defensively!! Just gotta win a Super Bowl while he's with us. I still feel so bad for him that we lost the first Super Bowl he played in. I just know he's gonna get another chance. NFC West is tough and so are many AFC teams but that is is the reason why we're gonna win one, two, three or more. Go RAMS.

I am too. My first in person game was at the LA Coliseum in 1973 and I keyed on Merlin Olsen and his brother Phil Olsen. We were in the nosebleed seats and the Coliseum was rocking! Merlin was good and I enjoyed him somuch that I had him as my avatar for 9 years.

Aaron Donald is better. Saying that doesn't diminish Merlin because he was an iron man for the Rams! I've just never seen a smallish DT^ able to do what he does, When Warren Sapp went on the fishing trip with Selassie, he admitted that Donald was better than he was.....

I remember many on the Post Dispatch Ram board upset that the Rams took Donald for their second first round pick. The argument was, the Rams used a first round pick the year before for DL, and the Rams had too many holes to fill elsewhere. Sooooo, I am going to thank one of the most hated men on this board, Jeff Fisher, for picking not only AD, but for having the guts to go get Goff the way he did. I believe the DL we took the year before AD was Brockers.

brockers was drafted in 2012, fisher's, through snead, first ever pick.

tavon, ugh, came the season after that.

AD came in 2014.

How about?

Deacon- Best Rams DE ever
Donald-Best Rams DT ever (and probably all time)

LT was the best OLB ever, imo

IMO, it's not fair to compare them all because they are different positions. They all were the best at THEIR positions though.

Speaking of Tavon, how about Tye Hill 15th overall in 2006! I think we could have used Tarot cards for a better draft.

Well at least we got Claude Wroten, Jon Alston and Dominique Byrd in the 3rd round to make up for Tye....

That Draft was hot like @CGI_Ram s visit to the Oak Island Assisted Living Center....

Too bad he didn't use the No. 2 pick on Khalil Mack-- can you imagine AD and Mack?? I was laughed at for suggesting that pick...

I liked that scenario too, but you know the primary need was a LT in that draft. If Mack was taken by us, We would have gone after Taylor Lewan...

Too bad we didn't get a left tackle either-- just a colossal bust.

While i wasn't happy they traded up to get him i was happy tavon was on the team.

And he showed what a weapon he was towards the end of his rookie season. I thought he was gonna explode the next season.

But i had no idea he wasn't serious about being a great wr. Naturally he regressed. And while he didn't get better as a wr the next season after that he was dangerous and scored plenty of tds.

I just wish the Rams knew he wasn't serious about being great before they gave him the big contact. Just a waste of talent.

Trading down 3 spots from #2 to #5 would have brought some extra picks, but still think we wouldn't have picked AD. Wanna get really sick? We picked Joe Klopfenstein ahead of Andrew Whitworth.

McVay needs to do a better job working the refs re: Donald being held IMO. It happens so often that the refs almost accept it. Even when it's blatant like this one where 74 pulls him and keeps him from blowing up that 3rd and 2 run that gained 3 yards and a first down:
