Four sacks in a game from a single interior lineman...when's the last time that's been done?

And I was more impressed with the strip fumble. That was like my ball dude.

Totally agree. That was a hell of a play and actually pretty funny the way he ripped the ball from the Whiners' hands.

I lol'd so hard at Goff here:

"Jared, when you see what Aaron [Donald] does to other QBs . . ."
"Yea, it's bad."

To think, in less games, he has 3 more sacks than Mack.

I'm so glad they locked him up.

He is the most dominant defensive player I've seen on the Rams and I've been a fan for 46 years. Loved Jack Youngblood but Donald is just in his own category. We are watching a future Hall of Famer. Enjoy.(y)

I encourage everyone to go back and watch the highlights. Might be the most dominant defensive performance I've ever seen. Donald was sacking #3, twice without touching him, literally using SF linemen to plow him down ... amazing!

Aaron Donald DT 8 sacks
Danielle Hunter DE 7.5 sacks
Von Miller LB 7.5 sacks
Myles Garrett DE 7.0 sacks
JJ Watt DE 7.0 sacks

I wish they put QB hurries with this stat, because that's almost even more important than sacks....

My favorite sack was the bull rush and slap in the back. How strong is Donald for him to just slap you and you go flying??? :lifting::boxing:

Didn't he post a video of himself benching 495 in the off-season IIRC?

49ers offensive line reacts to Aaron Donald’s dominance
Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald dominated the 49ers’ offensive line on Sunday. Here’s what they had to say about their NFC West rival.
By Rob_Lowder

Defensive lineman Aaron Donald was the most dominant player on the field Sunday in the Los Angeles Rams’ 39-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium. Widely considered the game’s best interior defender, the Rams’ star routinely disrupted the 49ers’ offensive efforts throughout all four quarters.

Donald’s stat-line on the day was like something out of Madden:

9 total tackles
4 sacks for 29 yards
5 quarterback hits
6 tackles for loss
1 forced fumble
1 fumble recovery

The 49ers’ offensive line had no answer for Donald, who had a better game than his inflated stat sheet suggests. His knack for getting into the backfield never allowed the 49ers’ offense to generate any real rhythm. Quarterback C.J. Beathard was sacked eight times and hit another 12.

Donald’s performance Sunday was no surprise to veteran left tackle Joe Staley, who’s battled the Rams’ star nearly 10 times over the last five seasons:

“I don’t think there’s anybody that’s been like him in the NFL. He’s in a class of his own. At the end of the day, he’s still an NFL player and our job is to block him. He was really impactful today. We’ll go back and watch film to see what we can do better the next time we play him.”

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey also chimed in:

“He is one of those rare breed types of a player. I didn’t get to see him too much today because he plays primarily on the inside but he is a phenomenal player. He puts it on tape each and every week and he is a force. That is all that you can really say about him.”

One of the few plays McGlinchey did see Donald was on a stunt to the rookie’s side. Donald drove McGlinchey backwards into Beathard, knocking the 49ers quarterback to the ground and forcing the sack.

Center Weston Richburg, who faced Donald more than any other player Sunday, was less complimentary and clearly disappointed in the group’s ability to contain Donald:

“Well he is a good player. We have to be prepared to play against players like that. We didn’t come prepared and we have to do a better job, obviously next time.”

hopefully CJ files a police report today
for the repeated hit and runs by Donald yesterday.

The last DT I could find (via Pro Football Reference) was Dana Stubblefield :puke: in 1997.

Aaron is the fifth Ram since 1982 to record four sacks in a game, joining

Gary Jeter Sept 18/1988
Kevin Greene Dec 18/1988
Sean Gilbert Sept 12/1993
Leonard Little Nov 30/2003

What IF this was not just a great game for Donald but a sign of things to come for the remainder of the season. He had a bit of a slow start but has been a force the last 4 games and is showing signs of being highly effective, motivated and in tip top football shape.

And! I am just guessing but I think the Rams Defensive Line (Actually, Their entire Defense!) will just keep getting better as Donald, Suh and Brockers get more experience playing together! SCARY Thought (At least for opposing Offenses!)!
