What's amazing is that there's not much more that can be done against him.
They're ALREADY doubling him 70% of the time.
It's not like if Von Miller had 10-15 sacks at this point and teams ratcheted the times he was doubled up to 50% which is more than twice as often as they do now.
It's been said that to break the sack record, you'd have to have 2/3rds of your sacks in the first 8 games because offenses will adjust and focus on you.
Problem with that for AD is that they are already doing all that more than any other player by 50% at the least and typically more than 3 TIMES more often than those with comparable stats.
If AD finds an OG with an ankle or knee as the season goes on, he could easily have another 4 sack day or even more. Wouldn't surprise me if we get to game 15 that AD has 18-20 sacks and there's talk of him breaking the sack record.
Whether this is a career year or the new normal, I'm just so happy to be able to watch history.
I didn't get to watch Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Norm Van Brocklin, Bob Waterfield, Johnny Unitas, Dick Butkus, or The Fearsome Foursome.
I did get to watch Lawrence Taylor and now we're all watching Aaron Donald and he's the type of player that decades from now, we'll all have our Aaron Donald stories.
Truly, we are watching a legend at the top of his game and I feel privileged to be able to watch it.
