Would be a better defense with a plus corner. Would better help against tougher teams like the Eagles. Besides, as we all know, a good chunk of them will be FAs next year.
True. Maybe they didn’t see any of the options as being better than what they have already.

And, there is always the leadership/mental/emotional make-up stuff, that we can’t really see. Maybe none of those corners fit what they are looking for from that point of view.

Or, they liked a few of the corners but simply liked other players at their pick points better.

Drafting strictly to fill needs, by taking a lesser player over a better player, because they fill a position of need usually doesn’t work out in the long run.

Honestly just wish they did get one but it is what is at the moment. Hopefully we see quite a bit of improvement from our secondary because if we do, man would our defense be much better. I'm now hoping we do get Ramsey back.

I thought we were high on Speights last year, or was he last years old toy?
We were high on him never NEED a ILB than can actually keep up with today's offensive players. And who could tackle and not constantly get dragged around for 2yd gains. He is decent, and has a high ceiling. But I know for 1 thing... I grew tired of LBs getting ran over and missing tackles. We have been in the bottom of run D in the league for years. And the years we wasn't is ONLY because we scored a lot of points and teams had to throw.

I saw him listed as 6’-1 235 lbs. one podcaster, Oliver connely claimed he played at 215 lbs.

That seems way too light
I've heard somewhere around 222 lbs. That's the kind of weight that's similar to Nick Bolton's. Never stopped him from being a dominant run stuffer.

We’ll see - The Rams got 2 ILBers that should be able to battle for a starting job.
The Rams just got younger with more upside either way. Rseonboom & Jacob were ok,but Reeder is comparable.I expect him to compete early & mentor this guys. Omar Speights gives Troy a lot of phrase to helping him as a UDRFA.

Compete early, sure. Mentor, sure. But he won't be on the team very long, hopefully; I'd take both CPJ and Dolac ahead of him, and I'd definitely take Landman and Speights ahead as well - and I doubt Reeder will be a fifth inside linebacker on this team.

Reeder will be given a chance to make the 53 man roster. Unless Landman fails or Dolac isn’t ready he won’t likely make it.

How many LBs are you expecting them to keep?

I have Speights, Paul, Landman, Reeder, Dolac. It looks to me like there's only a small chance that Reeder doesn't make it.

Doubt we keep 5 ILB. Probably gonna be 4 and yeah probably Reeder is odd man out if Dolac makes the cut. But they may tell these guys both jobs are open and let all 5 compete until shit is sorted then axe the lowest performer. Kind of hope that happens.

Reeder could be one of the vets that they put on the PS, unless someone else signs him after he is waived.

No matter what happens,he is a good influence.Who knows what happens as well. I do agree though with those 4 players make the team ahead of him.

The Rams don’t pay safeties and usually only have one star corner. There defense is built on the LOS. That’s where the money goes.

Didn’t they only allow 10 points or fewer in three consecutive games last year? Even if the teams aren’t great three in a row is impressive.
Not to mention how well the secondary played as a group at the end of the season

Elias Neal & Tony Fields are the other 2.

My guess is Reeder ends up a back-up and special teams guy with Neal & Fields going to the Practice squad

I wouldn't be surprised if Paul & Dolac were the (2) ILB starters by November.

Paul is very smell for a linebacker and definitely has limitations because of that. I don’t expect him to carve out a prominent role on this team. That’s okay though. He’s a late round pick, he can play special teams and is a great leader.

They already have Speights, Landman, and Reeder and they don’t use two linebackers on every play as it is.
