My preferred projection - if we had to pick ten - is this: Whitworth, Noteboom, Blythe, Corbett, Havenstein, Evans, Edwards, Anchrum, Cabral, and a waiver wire pickup, preferably a tackle.

There's a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes with the makings of this 2020 OL. I would have preferred that the OL would have remained very close to what the Rams had over the last half of 2019. Kromer is in charge!

There are indications that there is one major OL position unsettled.

#1- Back-up Center

Brian Allen appears to not be fully healed from his left knee injury in gm #9 of last season. His rehab went much slower than expected. Allen completely tore his left MCL, he fractured his left meniscus & fractured his top part of his left tibia. Besides the slow recovery he had to battle COVID-19 virus. So Allen has been seriously impacted for most all of 2020 with health issues. It might be best to PUP Allen when the Regular season begins. Its obvious that BA is currently in a weakened state.

Jeremiah Kolone at this point in time appears to be in the drivers seat to secure the back up center position from Coleman Shelton & Cohl Cabral. Shelton was the back up center to Brian Allen & Austin Blythe in 2019. Shelton is also in his 3rd TC. Shelton is far more versatile than Kolone but also lacks strength, power & size something that Kolone has. Kolone also can play all three interior posts but lacks any athleticism.

Random OL thought nuggets:

Kromer must like the right side duo of Havenstein/ Corbett. Just like he seems to prefer the Whitworth/ Noteboom duo on the left. Jamil Demby is still hanging in here doing a trio of posts LT/RT/RG stuff. Kromer also like Tremayne Anchrum on that left side too. I still believe that Noteboom is the official back up to Whitworth @ LT. I would expect that the trending downward David Edwards would fill the LG post if there was a vacancy. I would highly expect a center & OG to land regularly each week on the revolving four-man protected practice squad.

Solid take. Although I'll be surprised if the starting 5 we're seeing now don't change.

I'll add that we should keep in mind teams can protect 4 PS players this year. That's gonna be nice with whatever kicker is the runner-up and maybe a guy like Allen. If he can't factor in this year he's probably going to be moving on to another team by next season anyway (next season will be a contract year for him so if he's not a starter replace his ass).

IMO Anchrum will make this team. If, that is, they give him a shot on the interior to show what he can do. He just has a ton of good snaps vs good competition so it's hard to imagine him not making the cut.

Dude the roster remains 53 for this year. It doesn't change until the season expands to 17 games. What they did was expand the PS and added a protected status to a few players on the PS so other teams can't poach.

As long as this current OL is by far the weakest unit on the team, there will be strong attempts by the Rams Org. to protect & cushion the OL up in overall numbers........... one area being on the 53 Master Roster & the other being the 16 player Practice Squad. I would not use the same measuring device that is applied on DL/ LB/ DB/ WR/ RB/ TE/ ST's units on the OL unit.

Reference Tremayne Anchrum chances.....as discussed here & elsewhere .....one of the main issues for him currently is who is the #2 center..... This OL position is still unsettled but if the largest of all OC prospects Jeremiah Kolone is the winner then the fact he was a 5 yr starter @ OG in college will certainly hurt Anchrum's chances. If it were Coleman Shelton or Cohl Cabral who are primarily just a OC then TA's chances would increase.

Having all these young OG's playing in front of TA like Noteboom, Corbett, Demby/ Edwards & Evans makes a very steep hill to climb. However, an injury to one of our OT's would open a large door because one of the above 5 will take that OT starting position. The interior OL is still having big issues in training Camp.

Kromer once again going with different starters @ LG than he had the latter half of 2019. Same can be said about having a different starter @ RG than he had over the last half of 2019. Kromer has had four different starters @ LG {Noteboom/ Demby/ Edwards/ Corbett & again Noteboom} since the opening of the 2019 seasons till this date. Same can be said about four different starters @ RG {Blythe/ Demby/ Edwards/Corbett} since the beginning of 2019.o_O
