Last night he looked good against the run, gets to the hole quickly, but a little stiff in pass coverage.
Yeah, ILB to me.
Fills well, attacks, seems to read pretty well.
Stiff is a good description. Being stiff lacks a good change of direction.

Ref your corner comments.....I like Darious Williams too, much better than Troy Hill. DW is also a good nickle where Hill is not. Keeping DW who will not be a UFA until 2022 is good long term planing. Could replace NRC in the Nickle when NRC departs for UFA'cy after next season. Sure would make the next season losses of Talib & Peters much easier to overcome. David Long/ Darious Williams & Kevin Peterson give the Rams a good young trio core of CB's to run with NRC next season.

I prefer the faster younger safety Steven Parker over Marqui Christian who will be a UFA in 7 months. Parker is a proven ball hawk & makes plays in the deep backfield. Christian has clubs for hands, never makes plays deep & can not catch football. Parker contract is ultra low cost & he can be a Ram until 2023. I would hope to land FS Nick Scott on the PS if that fails then FS Jake Gervase will do. I am going with only 4 safeties & 6 corners on the master roster.
I agree 100%, don't think it will play out like this but I'm hoping it does

I agree on keeping Webster, but have we seen Webster return punts?

Has he done that in college?

Surprised they have not put him back there at least that I can remember.... Only kickoffs thus far.

I like the list.

*You have to keep Natson.

*Allen may not be the 3rd QB...he could very well be the 2nd QB. I think he reads and releases much faster than Bortles, though he does lack experience. Bortles *could* be trade talk...but I ain't sure.

*I like Mundt very much because he's a blend of both Higbee and Everrett.

No doubt Snead and McVay will be watching the cuts from here on out with and eye for LB and OLine improvement.

I like Darious Williams enough to see this Peters trade thru.

Rams have to keep Webster, Hodge and Thomas. Webster looks so natural catching and running after the catch. The problem is we haven't seen enough of Webster as a punt returner. Natson is so quick returning punts when given space. A needy WR team would take Webster if Rams cut him. It will be interesting to see how the Rams decide this.

x Hrynk
x Hitner

OFFENSE Notes: confident now the Rams keep 7 wideouts, they'd have to be nuts to cut either Thomas or Hodge and they need Web on this roster because he's earned it plus he does returns. If the Rams go with 3 QBs then the OL will go with 8 IMO.

DEFENSE Notes: I don't see how they make room for Scott. Which sucks because someone might scoop him for teams on a lesser roster. They might sacrifice DL and go with 6 to free up a spot, but the Rams for some reason love Smart and his flexibility and Fox has earned a roster spot IMO so just a really tough deal here and once again I'd hate to be making the cuts on this side of the ball.

Isn't Lawler injured ? IR him and keep Darious Williams. Williams will be our safety valve should we lose both Peters & Talib in the 2020 off-season.

I'm undecided about Kolone, especially if we keep Brewer. Hrynkiewicz may be the better fit if Brewer sticks, but if the Rams go with 8 offensive linemen, then keeping Kolone makes more sense to me. This is a tough one.

I lose Smart and add Copeland or just maintain 6 defensive linemen.

I keep Scott and lose Christian.

Not sure what's up with Lawler, figured he was being held out. If he's hurt I missed it.

Rams love Smart due to his flexibility. I don't, but think he makes the cut.

And you may be right on Scott over Christian, that's about the only way he makes it.

Where’s the Safety Parker?

I think they will follow convention and carry only 2 QB's. I am even more sure that they will only carry 1 NT and that's Gaines. SJD has shown nothing to warrant a roster spot. He simply looks no different than last year despite having a year to develop.

I think they may break from convention and load up on WR's for a couple of reasons. I think Hodge and Thomas are equally talented but show different roles they can play. Hodge is a possession type of WR and Thomas is a mid-range to deep receiver. Also, they need to carry Webster as a possession receiver and return specialist. The other reason is why release players you know probably will be picked up by AZ and or SF? Why strengthen them?

I'm going deep in the secondary looking at next year. There is a real prospect the Rams could completely turn over their CB's. I'm not convinced they extend Peters and Talib. I think they exercise their ability to get out of their contracts with Hill and Roby-Coleman. Both these guys make the team this year simply because of their dead cap situation which doesn't apply next year.

That's why I'm looking at the fact they have replacements already on the roster and one year of experience will mean they have veteran replacements for the guys they release. Two guys are very intriguing. Parker and especially Gervase. When I look at Gervase play I see a CB, not a safety. He has the height, speed, and agility you want in a CB. He's only an inch shorter than Talib, equally as fast as Talib was as a rookie and Jake is more agile. That's not a safety that's a CB. In Parker, he has excellent length and the speed you want in your secondary. That combination isn't common and you don't want him playing against you at AZ or SF. The Seahawks love tall fast CB's and safeties for a reason. It gives them the range and most of all the play radius they don't get with smaller players.

This is my 53 and it's almost the same as the one I posted earlier.

QB Goff - Bortles
RB Gurley - Brown - Henderson - Kelly
XWR - Woods - Reynolds
YWR - Kupp - Hodge - Webster
ZWR - Cooks - Thomas
TE - Everett - Higbee
LT Whitworth

RG - Blythe
RT - Havenstein
O-line: Edwards, Evans, Demby
Offense 23

DE Okoronkwo - Patrick
DE/DT Brockers
NT Gaines
DT Donald - Franklin-Myers
WIL Fowler - Carraway
OLB Ebukam / Mathews
ILB Littleton - Howard
ILB Hager - Allen
RCB Talib - Long - Hill
LCB Peters - Peterson
Slot Roby-Coleman - Darious Williams
FS Weddle - Rapp - Scott

What happened to Trevon Young.

It appears he fell of the face of the Rams Earth.

I don't remember seeing him in preseason at all.

He gets banged up to easy. Others like Patrick and Obo took that opportunity and ran with it. Sucks because I really thought we had a steal when we drafted him.

OK so MC makes the team again. It's going to tuff for Parker now

it's strange, you never see christian make a play. he may have but i don't remember any of them. i remember a lot of his mistakes and being a tad late a bunch of times. i guess they like him in the lber sub role which parker won't do for the rams. but man that parker can defend some passes. i'd like to see him do it against starters but all we have is what we've seen so far.

Lots of skepticism about the OL, especially C, with Neary going down with a broken ankle. One guy that gets mentioned the least, C Vitas Hrynkiewicz, has only gotten snaps late in pre season games at C, but as Bonifay has pointed out, this last games vs the Broncos , he got snaps at G.

I've watched Vitas from the first day of TC til now and I'm confused as to why he has not seem more playing time. Too raw? Trouble picking up line calls? Things is, he doesn't get beat and holds his ground. Much more physical than Neary. Will he get more playing time earlier in the game vs the Texans? Hope so, I like what I've seen from this guy so far.
