QB Goff, Bortles, Allen

RB Gurley, Brown, Henderson, Kelly

TE Higbee, Everett, Mundt

WR Cooks, Woods, Kupp, Reynolds, Thomas,
Webster, Natson

OL Whitworth, Noteboom, Allen, Blythe,
Havenstein, Edwards, Evans, Neary

ST Hekker, Zuerline, McQuaide

DL Donald, Brockers, Gaines, Franklin-
Myers, Joseph-Day, Smart, Fox

LB Matthews, Fowler, Littleton, Allen,
Howard, Patrick, Ebukam,
Okoronkwo

CB Talib, Peters, Robey-Coleman, Long,
Hill, Peterson

S Johnson, Weddle, Rapp, Scott

If I could trade Bortles for Colts back up OL Evan Boehm I would. Would probably carry two QB in that case and keep the rest of the OL as is.
Hager is likely to make it just based on experience. But man he doesn’t show much in game play. His ST specialist roll would be filled by Scott.
Not too many surprises of course.
DL and LB can go any number of ways with the last couple of spots.
After the Littleton, Mathews and Fowler there is a whole lot of potential and a whole lot of who knows?
Natson flashes as a punt returner. Can get extra field position at times. It’s a deep WR group and he is a “luxury”.
His spot could easily be filled by Hager, Brewer or several others.
Tear it apart.....

Defense :
1) Hager is going to start
2) I drop Smart and go with 6 DL

Offense :
1) Drop Allen at QB
2) Drop Natson, add Hodge (Webster is your K/PR)
3) Neary is out indefinitely (minimum 4 game suspension, then his injury status)
4) Rams need another Center who can also play OG (Kolone, Hrynkiewicz or Demby)
5) With 1 remaining roster spot, either Brewer, Copeland, Durham, Reeder, Darious Williams or Steven Parker. One game left, may the best man win.
jmo.

With all our depth, this years will be the easiest Practice Squad ever assembled if we can get our guys through waivers.

Love our RB depth. Our projected 4th RB John Kelly is a good player. I love how he runs hard - I think he could do some decent damage behind a competent O-Line.

I am really liking that the Rams feel pretty deep at spots prone to bumps and bruises; WR and CB

(y)

Seems like you always play games into that depth.

My concern with Hager playing is Hager playing. You are probably right. He sticks and plays but how long he lasts starting? Who knows?
I’m keeping Allen so he can replace Bortles next year as more of a long term back up.
Normally wouldn’t keep three.
Your fourth point is true. I am assuming/hoping Neary can heal up over his suspension. If not they need to find someone else because no one else listed can play C. Brewer may be kept on the roster, certainly on the practice squad.
I am interested to see if Smart sticks.
The main reason I kept Fox is there is some flexibility with him.

I liked Reeder and his ability to read and react but he is mostly a between the tackles LB.
At the least a practice squad guy.

Fox had a good game and may have secured his job.

I agree with #2(offense), Natson is more likely to give you the big play but also more likely to give a big play to other team. I really like Hodge the last play of first quarter last night for example he broke a tackle and picked up 18 extra yards after a catch. I know he won't see the field much but when he does I feel confident with him out there.

#63 Vitas Hrynkiewicz (known as a center only) entered the game in the 4th quarter with 11 minutes remaining & took up the RG post. He made all the blocks & was mistake free.

PS: DL'er Tanzel Smart vs Morgan Fox? Fox wins roster spot.

I would think that list would be very close. I would drop one DL. I think MC is in at safety. I really dont want JoJo to make it over Hodge/Webster. I don't think we will carry 3 QBs

Very nice projection, fearsome.

Just a couple of disagreements for me.

No room for the QB Allen on the 53. He’s gotta be a ps player, or else. BTW, sounds like McVay kinda prefers Wolford by a hair.

I think Natson’s a goner. Webster is a much better WR and probably a better PR, too. Maybe use the saved roster spot for another developmental OL, LB, or CB?

Gotta have another OL to replace Neary, if only for the first 4 games. Brewer caught my eye last night.

Smart out. Only carry 6 DL.

Use the saved spot to add Steven Parker at S.

Troy Hill out and Darious Williams in, contract be damned. Troy Hill, is no longer among our 6 best CB’s.

Now it’s perfect. Lol.

I don’t really disagree with anything you said except Wolford.
I still prefer Hill for experience if nothing else. Could go either way with the last DB and S spots.
Brewer was ok at times. Certainly better overall than Demby or Kolone or any of the others. Demby did show a little push in the run game last night.
Either way the Rams need to look at interior OL after cuts.

Ref your corner comments.....I like Darious Williams too, much better than Troy Hill. DW is also a good nickle where Hill is not. Keeping DW who will not be a UFA until 2022 is good long term planing. Could replace NRC in the Nickle when NRC departs for UFA'cy after next season. Sure would make the next season losses of Talib & Peters much easier to overcome. David Long/ Darious Williams & Kevin Peterson give the Rams a good young trio core of CB's to run with NRC next season.

I prefer the faster younger safety Steven Parker over Marqui Christian who will be a UFA in 7 months. Parker is a proven ball hawk & makes plays in the deep backfield. Christian has clubs for hands, never makes plays deep & can not catch football. Parker contract is ultra low cost & he can be a Ram until 2023. I would hope to land FS Nick Scott on the PS if that fails then FS Jake Gervase will do. I am going with only 4 safeties & 6 corners on the master roster.

I would try to trade Mike Thomas and keep Hodge. Thomas has more trade value and I think Hodge is a more reliable receiver, more versatile also.

I’m sure many of the Rams cuts will be scarfed up quickly. Even a guy like Jalen Greene has potential to be a third or fourth receiver on a needy team. We could have used a guy like him on Fisher’s last few teams.

Hodge and Thomas has been excellent gunners on punt coverage. I think that value outweighs Natson's contributions, as we have several who can return punts. And I would guess Parker would be on my list as a special teamer. But DL, I'm not sure fox or Smart is there for me. Copeland has has a bigger upside than either. But I think at least one waiver wire pick up in this group. Also another waiver wire pick up for OL w/ Neary out (suspension/ injury). I like both Allen and Wolford, but I think starting out, we go w/ 2 QBs. (even though I think Allen runs the offense better than Bortles right now....). Wolford looks like that Case Keenan kind of guy that will do well when he gets his chance)

Thomas might garner a 7'th rounder, ... might, but no guarantee. He just doesn't have much in the way of quality regular season tape for anything much higher. jmo.

My 25 player defense (set up) is just about set:

DE- Brockers/ JF-M
NT- SJ-D/ (R) Gaines
DT- Donald/ Fox/ {ST- (R) Copeland}

ER- Matthews/ Ebukam/ (R) Patrick
ER- Fowler/ Okoronwko {ST- (R)Durham}

ILB- Littleton/ Howard/ (R) Dakota Allen
ILB- Hager/ {ST- (R) Reeder}

CB- Peters/ (R) Long {ST- Deayon}
CB- Talib/ Peterson
NK- NRC/ Williams

Saf- Weddle/ (R)Rapp
Saf- JJIII/ Parker / {ST- (R) Scott}

I feel sorta naked with only 4 safeties but Nick Scott is standing ready in the bull pen ST. If Hager goes FailMode then he would be released. Wade would go with what he already has inside adding OLB'er Matthews & safety Rapp into the mix & ILB'er. I see no issues with this. At that point Nick Scott would make the 53 player roster as our 5th safety.

Wasd might go off & go with only five DL'ers & goes heavy with edge rushers! In this case Fox would give way to rookie UDFA ER Landis Durham who is 6-3 260lbs.

But haven’t you seen Christian’s hair?! No I agree I’d much rather have Parker

At the least a practice squad guy.
Last night he looked good against the run, gets to the hole quickly, but a little stiff in pass coverage.
