Maybe I'm more optimistic than most or just unrealistic, but I have the floor as a top 5 D. I'd be shocked if they were lower than that.
I hear you.

I think it just depends on what way you rank teams. Like… Seattle was 6th in yardage which is the traditional metric. They were the best D, imo.

I think the Rams will lead in sacks and turnovers… I think yardage might be a function of the offense. If they’re just on fire… there maybe a bunch of “empty” yards for opposing teams.

I've always been partial to points myself. Isn't that the goal? To prevent points. McVay has had a lot of teams that give up yards but lock down in the RZ, thus giving up fewer points. I'll take that if I had to choose.

But I expect this team to excel in both categories. If they lead in sacks and turnovers, and continue to stop the run like or better than last year, they shouldn't give up many yards or points.

People can call me unrealistic, but if they're lower than top 5 in either category, I think they've underperformed. And this is without Donald. I see no way you add McDuffie, Watson, and Garrett to what was already a good defense last year and only come away with #5.

Poppycock.

They will play magnitudes more man with a third CB roving. It will be a complete 180.

Yeah - a lot of inner changeables as well. What I’m wondering is how does the 53 look this season ?

Really think The Rams will go short on O”Lineman, but practice squad will have an abundance ??? This group will get a lot of playing time during the preseason.

Don’t think Wallace , McCoulough, or E-MAN play in The Preseason????

I personally dont THINK a Rookie (CJ) qualifies as "breakout." We'll find out tom.

If I'm forced to guess, I'm gonna say.....Konata????

What about Jordan Whittington??

IMO - he is easily The Better WR right now? He plays on Teams as well ??

On the Defensive side I’ll say Desjuan Johnson. The guy who should have a real BREAKTHROUGH is Braden FISKE !!

Braden FISKE has taken over more of a LEADERSHIP role this year.

Did anyone else watch that AD99 workout ?? Those 2 player together will be unstoppable!! Not taking anything away from Puna or Turner.

what constitutes magnitudes

Rams played man 26% and zone 74% of the time last year which I think was good enough for 8th in the NFL in zone. The Broncos played the most man last year at 44%. I would be shocked if we hit 44% man this year.

We'll play more man and it will seem like a lot more cause it will show up more in third down packages but it's not gonna be crazy.

If you're expecting a 180 you might be disappointed.

We had a very good scheme last year and not the horses to make it run. I expect we run the same scheme with tweaks to take advantage of our secondary this year (including more man) but this isn't a wholesale change nor should it be.

Well not sure ? I guess from what I’ve seen is McDuffie should be Top 5,then again do teams go away from him ?

Where do points come into play ?
Not the biggest numbers guy, wins & losses is what it’s all about.Yet The Numbers usually work themselves out.

Landman & Speight are really looking good as a tandem. That is going to help stuff the RUN !!

As long as Garret is healthy I say he gets 18+ sacks. Dude set the record last season without the benefit of 4th quarter leads.
Donald plays a full season I bet he gets 12+.
