Now that’s an eye-opening stat.
You can say that again!!! 1 less than the next 3 combined??? Correction, next 4.

Ferguson only had 11 receptions. I'd bet Davante and Puka had many more big plays than Ferguson. And most certainly a few of those 41 were Kyren or Corum runs. But that only means we may have many more than 41 this year if Ferguson has a breakout season.

We have one of the premier goal line backs in the entire league in Kyren Williams.
Even though it might be an interesting trick to put Puka in as a ball carrier, he's never carried the ball before and the goal line is a unique situation where it would be a huge risk. I just don't see it.

I don't have the numbers on Ferguson for 11 and 12 personnel (I don't think he got a lot of snaps there) but if all 11 snaps came from 13 and he average 21 yards per play than give or take almost 1/4 of explosive plays from 13 were his.

I totally agree if he breaks out it's gonna be fantastic.

I don't have the personnel numbers either but his receptions can be found.

21 yd, 31 yd, 36 yd, 21 yd, 32 yd, 6 yd, 27 yd, 3 yd, 3 yd, 27 yd, 27 yd (red=TD)

That's 8 big plays out of 11 receptions!!!! But in what formations? His "break out" year might only mean more targets!

Him just taking another step would be nice for this offense.

Clearly, out of 12 or 13 P, he's the deep threat. Our #3 WR in some cases.

Through the years, McVay hasn't used the TEs nearly as much as most expected. Last year was just the 2nd time our tight ends combined for more than 100 receptions under McVay. The other time was 2019 when Cooks had concussion issues. Higbee had a career high 69 receptions that season.

Stafford had something interesting to say in his interview with Chris Long. And I have to paraphrase......

"people say, it's a copycat league so we're going to see a lot of teams running 13P, but they don't realize the talent we have in that room is rare. We've got 4 guys who can run, catch and block. A lot of NFL teams don't have that, so we won't see a lot of teams running 13P"

This is why offensive minded coaches ran it with success in different ways last year. It isn’t as unique as I initially thought.
Personnel matters, though. The well roundedness of the Rams’ TE group should make plays less predictable.

Fixed. I guess Stafford forgot about Klare. :P

It's a small sample size but I think he's our deep threat now. I expect our use of 12 with him playing F to increase quite a bit too and possibly overtake 11 personnel as soon as next year.

To be fair, Klare hasn’t earned anything yet. He’s still awaiting his first camp!

True. I don’t think it’ll take long for him to have a major impact, though. Maybe then Stafford will remember him.

But for serious, I really love Klare, Trost and Daniels as prospects/young players. It’ll be interesting to see what the bottom of the roster will be.

Thing to remember is that Ferguson averaged 21 yards per reception. A lot of that was coming from him.
Him and Stafford didn't connect on quite a few too. I remember earlier in the season it seemed like at least once every game Ferguson got wide open and Stafford didn't throw it to him where it was catchable. I'm going to assume it was an issue of rookies not knowing what angle to take and no familiarity between the two. Either way, point being they left quite a few on the field also. Should be a fun season I think. Trying to decide if I'll take a flyer on Ferguson in fantasy at some point in drafts.

Yeah, I believe he had an issue with contested catches in college too. Gonna need to both step it up with alignment on routes but also he needs to work on concentration and fight for the ball.

This is the reason I am looking forward to Ferguson having a profound presence in this upcoming season. The guy gets open. And, like you said, not just open but "wide-open" and frequently. Not sure why Stafford did not connect on those. From my memory, most of those missed opportunities looked like bad throws from Stafford. But, that's just how they looked, and as @WestCoastRam pointed out, may be Ferguson taking wrong angles. You'd think both of them can get that stuff worked out heading into next season and start connecting on a lot of big time plays.
