A lot could happen between now and next offseason. I was thinking it could be Higs' last season, but if healthy, he could return for another year. His cost is reasonable. They could keep him and resign Parkinson while letting Davis Allen test free agency. There are multiple ways this turns out. Overall, a healthy TE Room looks solid for 2026-27.

5 TEs for $16m this year. If their combined production is greater than a top TE + top WR3 then winner!

Higs is the one whose future is clear I think. Just a matter of time for him at 33 years. Not that he's old, but he's at that final curve range for the position. The TEs who play into their mid 30s well seem to be the option route studs, and that has never been Higs. Inline types it's probably more a young man's game. They're cheaper and they bring upside.

I made my post before reading your two posts. I was debating Higs' return in 2027. You could be right that he retires. That was my original thought too. Considering his cap hit is only $ 3 million, he could be worth the money for one more year. He is a vocal leader who brings energy to the team.

Well to be clear I am not saying he'll retire. Just that he's probably near that point.

Dedich to the PUP list. Does that open the door for Limmer?

Still no word on AJ possible suspension. Since TC has started, AJ is full go as LT. Does that indicate NFL is waiting for "statute of limitations" in his case to run it's course? That would run into next year.

Wouldn't surprise me at all for Goodell to phuk AJ and the Rams and suspend him right before the season started.

I'll go out on a giant limb and say that it's not Limmer...but Dylan McMahon. He's a center, but he has experience all over the line (played every interior line spot in college). Not the biggest (listed at 6'3", 290 lbs.), but Dedich honestly isn't much bigger (6'2", 296 lbs.), and McMahon is a solid pass-protector, which is more than Limmer can say. Unless Limmer has seriously improved his pass-protection and calling the O-line slides (he had and did neither in his rookie year), I don't think he'll ever be considered as even a backup center.

EDIT: Austin Blaske and Wyatt Bowles should also get consideration for that interior spot as well. Blaske can play every O-line position, while Bowles played well in preseason (likely not a center, but as a guard? Maybe.) and was re-signed to our practice squad.
