IMO he's not wrong and I rarely agree with this boy on any subject. That said I wouldn't give up a ton on Maxx just not sold on him being worth the kind of draft picks that are talked about. Also not a big believer in Allen but if the Bills want to do something other than fizzle out every year they probably should roll the dice on Maxx.
He makes a good point. Drafting late in the first round guarantees nothing. The best players are gone by then. Almost second round talent is left.
Rams know this. So they find a team who still values those picks and make a big trade. Its highly unlikely a late first rounder is gonna be anywhere near the caliber of McDuffie and Garrett. They use their late first rounders on proven all pros. It doesn't hurt that they're very good in drafting the day 2 and 3 picks.
When you look at the list of day 2 and day 3 picks on the roster its pretty impressive. Turner, Young, Fiske, Puka, Ferguson, Kyren, Corum, Kinchens, Lake, Avila, McClendon. All good starters. You have rotational guys that are pretty good too. Stewart, Allen, Dedich. There lone first round pick Verse was parlayed into acquiring a first ballot Hall of Famer.
No one does it like the Rams. All those people saying they mortgaged the future in 2021. After an injury riddled 2022 season they bounced back quickly and became an annual playoff team. And here they are 5 years later Superbowl favorites. Again.
