Rams camp leg?

Guys, he's not dead. Former Rams Cairo Santos and Lucas Havrisik are still kicking in the League. Sucking and getting cut, multiple times, isn't necessarily the end for a kicker. If Karty just keeps working through whatever he needs to work through and if he can shake the suck, the dream is not over.

Of course, having a f'ing Stanford degree to fall back on might affect his decision on his future.

The guy has made a few million dollars kicking a ball so don't feel too bad for the guy. But I did think we had found our kicker for a decade in him. Just don't understand what happened that caused his pre-kick process to progressively keep slowing down. Was weird. He'll probably bounce around a few practice squads for a few more years if he wants to keep trying.
oh yeah... painful reminders of his kicks getting blocked.
and our post-season rankings getting lower & lower with every ST-driven loss.
if we haven't fixed our ST unit, it doesn't matter if AD comes out of retirement or not. It will always bite us in the rear end until it is.

In the Baker discussion on 1stThings1st, they seem to believe the Bucs are right to wait. "Baker didn't play well the second half of the season". Absolutely true.

First 8 games (6-2) 172-269 (63.9%) 1919 yds (7.1 y/a) 13 TD 2 Int 98.1 Rating
Last 9 games (2-7) 171-274 (62.4%) 1774 yds (6.5 y/a) 13 TD 9 Int 83.2 Rating

Some context.
Evans missed 9 games (wks 4-6; wks 8-14)
Bucky Irving missed 7 games (wks 5-12)
Godwin missed 8 games (wks 1-3; 6-11)
McMillan missed 13 games (wks 1-14)
Wirfs missed 5 games, Bredeson missed 6 games, Goedeke missed 6 games .... the only OL to play 17 games was 2nd yr C, Barton.

The only catagory with an obvious difference between the first half and second half was the picks. But that's Baker. He's gonna throw the ball. Completions were identical (a difference of 1), attempts a difference of 5, Yards down about 150, TDs the same.

I concur very odd with Karty and IMO, Chase Blackburn did not do him any favors. Apparently his kicking off, which was very effective with the knuckle type ball also effected his field goals. There was a report somewhere that communicated Blackburn had instructed Karty to wait to ensure Evans had the ball before he started his attempt, now if that was the case, Blackburn should never advise on kicking operations again, but who knows?

Mental makeup seemed to be there for Karty IMO. PFF rated him the best kicking prospect that had every scouted, so I was very happy when the Rams picked him and thought he would be better then Will Reichard, who was drafted just before Karty and Cam Little who was drafted just after him, but obviously that is not the case.

When the Cardinals signed Karty, I also felt, new opportunity and the Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland was not a Morten Anderson, so I thought Karty had a good chance of winning that battle, but he must have not impressed for them to make the move so early.

All in all, it appears the Rams have found their guy in Harrison Mevis, who performed pretty damn good although the one kick he missed was crucial, but he did not miss another one after the 48 yarder in Seattle and was clutch in the playoffs.

It's anologous to a hitting slump in baseball. Sometimes mental sometimes mechanical and often both

The Golf comparison I feel is also a good one. I have gone months to years where everything is fine, especially fairway woods and then boom, something happens and I am always grabbing my irons.

I didn't know where else to post this...but A.J. Brown literally admitted on an interview that he was leaking all kinds of stories to the press about his team to "motivate them".

Good luck, Cheatriots. You can't trust a grade-A weapons douchenozzle who would purposefully leak private information about the team to the media. Leaking shit in public that your teammates and coaches trust you with is one of the absolute scummiest stunts you can pull that isn't breaking the law when it comes to a sports team.

It's like with The Hippocratic Oath with doctors, patient confidentiality with therapists and psychiatrists, client confidentiality with lawyers. There's some shit you just don't do, and nobody should ever trust that fucking asshole ever again - because if he's doing this shit while the team is doing well, fate almighty help you when the team is struggling.

I hope it blows up in those fuckers' faces - because it couldn't happen to a better team.
