I agree. Just for comparison purposes, Goff has way better stuff than Simpson and we know how Goff worked out.

Simpson will need a super team to get to the superbowl.
When you say "way better stuff" you're talking about their arms. Goff does have a better arm.

But there are areas where Simpson is superior. He's more mobile. And I think he has higher football intelligence and mental processing. He doesn't wilt as much under pressure like Goff did.

On them needing a superteam, I agree that both probably need that to win a SB. The difference is, Simpson will be on a rookie contract for 5 years. In that time period, they can afford to build a superteam.

There's not many Stafford or greater QBs available, and when one does become available, it would help to have a Goff-like QB to flip for the Stafford-plus guy.

As I said, Simpson reminds me of Purdy. Purdy got to the superbowl but it was because (I fucking hate to admit this), he had a super team.

Simpson will need that 49er like team to get there.

And when I say Goff had way better stuff than Simpson, I am talking about how accurate Goff's throws are whether short or deep. Goff has possibly the best midrange throws of anyone in the league.

Maybe Simpson will have better intelligence and mental processing but he has to show it in the NFL before I believe that. But I will admit that Simpson has better mobility than Goff. My dad at 85 had better mobility than Goff (okay it's an exaggeration but you get the point).

Stafford didn't get a playoff win until he had a super team and coach. That's just the way it is with QBs. Look at mahomes, before he got hurt they weren't in the playoffs this past year because the roster declined.

Yeah but Stafford is better in the clutch than any of those players except for maybe Mahomes.

I just believe that Simpson will need that much of a better team than even Goff.

Goff would have been in the superbowl for Detroit if the Coach wasn't such a dumbass in that game and Reynolds didn't drop TWO count em Two fourth down passes.

I can forgive a receiver dropping one fourth down pass but TWO? Nope - I blame the majority of the loss against Reynolds and the Coach. If Reynolds catches just one of those two fourth down passes, I strongly believe Detroit would go on to win that game.

All I was saying was we can't really classify a QB as good or bad based on him not making a SB until he was on a good team.

Ok but all I am saying why I don't really care for Simpson since I think he will be a worse QB than Goff.

OK we all have different opinions on most of these prospects and our opinions will vary from the "experts" and obviously from the Rams and other teams. A lot of people have watched him and think if he can sit and be coached up that he shows enough to be developed into a quality NFL QB.

I think the biggest issue hurting Simpson's stock is not just his shortcomings that he showed those last 6 games, its really the fact that teams are looking at 27' as a strong QB draft with up to 9 or 10 guys that could go in the first 3 rounds. Of course that can, and will likley change.

Considering Simpson was looked at as a top 5 pick after his first 8 games last year, if next year was looked as a bad QB year, Simpson would likley be gone by pick 16 this year.

Would have no problem with Simpson being the pick at 13. Obviously if this was the case it neans that McVay and Snead love him. Simpson can also sit and watch and learn from anywhere from one to three years. Yes, THREE. The Aaron Rodgers/Jordan Love plan. Taking him in 1st gives us Ty for 5 years. Scouts love his footwork comparing it to Peyton Manning. A Coaches Son, Simpson has been drawing up plays since he's 5. McVay’s kind of QB, cerebral as can be.

Literally not what I said but I get it. You don't like the guy so it's all negative for him.
It's not that I don't like the guy, I think he will be a capable game manager like Purdy.

But I want someone better than Purdy.

Now ask me who - I have no idea. Maybe Burrow in two years?
