One of the reasons I just love following the NFL is because of stuff like this.
I look at it from my perspective ... i.e., as a long-time, Die-hard Fan of a team. It's Wonderful & It's Brutal.
A team can be disappointing for a long period of time and then explode ... like the 2017 Rams!!!
A team can be riding-high and then get punched in the nose.
When Ben Johnson went to Chicago, a top priority was the O-Line ... and four new starters were added, with three veterans (Thuney, Jackson, Dalman came via trades and free agency) added for the interior O-Line and Ozzy Trapilo was drafted in the 2nd round and played LT.
Excellent result ... very successful 2025 season ... despite losing in Overtime in the Divisional Round, the Bears left the field to a standing ovation.
Everything was (and still is) looking-up for Bears' fans. But today, they need to absorb a Gut-punch.
Their solid, young veteran center (Dalman) is gone (assuming the report is accurate). By-the-way, add to that ... Trapilo suffered a serious injury in the Wild Card Round, and may miss much of the 2026 season.
What a Great Sport to follow!
