I call bullshit...who in their right mind would trade for Dalton to make him a starter? Is it 2016?
Would he be an upgrade over Tua? Kyler? JJ McCarthy?

It's a consideration over them and they're not the worst how about Cleveland or the Jets?

Just a Guess ... but I think there are a few teams that will look at 2026 as a "Do the Best We Can at QB Year" ... and then try to make a move for one of the (potentially) highly-rated QBs in the 2027 Draft.

I'm thinking these teams will try to up-grade their rosters this off-season; and wait on 2027 for a targeted Franchise-QB. Living in NYC, it seems pretty clear that's what the Jets will do.

The Jets, Browns, Dolphins (if they move-on from Tua), Cardinals (if they move-on from Kyler Murray), Steelers (if Rodgers is not brought back), Falcons (especially if Penix is not going to ready for the season), Vikings (have a veteran to give them competition and an option to McCarthy) and even the Colts (if they don't re-sign Jones, or if they do and he's not ready for the start of the season).

That's as many as eight teams that could be looking for a Stop-Gap and/or veteran to Hold-the-Fort for '26.

Not the Raiders ... they will have Mendoza. They might even want a veteran QB to provide some support.
Maybe one of those teams ride with Ty Simpson ... but that's probably it for the 2026 Draft QB prospects
... at least for 2026 starting-QBs.

What's left after Malik Willis? He could only fill the need at QB for one of those eight teams.

Kirk Cousins would fit but after that ... ???
If Tua and/or Murray are released/traded, they could be options.

This is why Mac Jones might get the Evil-49ers a good return via trade.
Chicago is reportedly getting calls on Tyson Bagent.

After that the free agents are the Wilson Brothers (Russell and Zack), Jimmy G., Mariota, Flacco, Pickett, Trubisky, Tyrod Taylor, Wentz and Lance. A few of those guys are coming-off injuries.

32 NFL teams but there's not 32 good NFL starting-QBs.

With this year's QB market I do not expect Jimmy G. to return. If he can stay healthy he is a better option than most on the FA list, plus he has the Rams/McVay magic pixie dust sprinkled on him.

Is Stetson ready to be number 2????

Someone is going to trade for Richardson and have a win-win situation. If he shows he's a top 5 draft worthy QB, you have a franchise guy. If he sucks, you get to draft your franchise guy in a historic QB class. I suspect the Jets/Dolphins/Cards will have some interest in him

I said this a month ago. He could be plug n' play in a place like Minnesota to help them this year while they try to figure out of JJ was a mistake. With a team like that, he could get them in the playoffs if he can stay healthy.

I can see the Jets grabbing him if they’re not sold on the QBs this year. They have the capital yo build a foundation.

Or the Raiders to sit Mendoza until he’s ready

I wonder if Cleveland would part with Dillon Gabriel, since they seem to be leaning towards Sanders more than they did initially.
There's somebody out there who may be needy enough to give up some draft capital for him, given their current QB situation.

AR is talented as hell. That's about where it ends for me.

It's kind of funny really. Colts talked up how he was competing with Jones last year in preseason. Then I'm watching one of their preseason games and AR goes in the game and gets teed off on in his face because he doesn't anticipate the blitzer. Gets hurt.

Then there was all that BS about him taking himself out of the game because he was tired. Or last year how he managed to injure himself with one of those training rubber bands and couldn't even be a QB2 for them.

So all told he strikes me as non-competitive minded, and the dude is probably too stupid given that he's never looked good as a QB.

Geno Smith erasure is clear here!

This is a day for posting my favorite movies I guess.

Has no one actually watched A. Richardson play? McVay generally likes his QBs be able to hit the broadside of a barn.
I think the romanticized part of this is what drives it. GMs seeing that arm of his when he puts the ball on a fuckin rope for sixty yards.

Richardson is definitely not a fit here. He’s not cerebral enough for McVay plus those accuracy issues.
