Rams may not be high on any of those three. Lemon we don't know if the Rams were one of the teams he interviewed poorly with. Downs and McCoy the medicals may be an issue.

What a shit fuckin draft to have the 13th pick. That said there should be a player who is gonna be a great pro on the board, just gotta find him.

Or it could be the 2013 Draft reborn (absolute shit class). I hope it's not, that the players we pick become studs, but yeah, this is quickly turning into an awful draft at the top. I'd trade up for Lemon or Tate (not that they'll be anywhere near #13), but I think the strength of this class is in the late-teens/early-twenties all the way to the fifties.

It really looks like a shit class at the top, though, which is disappointing, considering we have a top fifteen pick after that steal of a trade.

That's why I like both trade up, and trade down options better than 13. One issue I will take with your post is that I think McCoy's medical is fine.

If this is true for McShay then it suggests he's got 12 1st round grades and there's a shot that at least one of them will be there for us.

Do we take one of the tackles? Will we get some interesting trade opportunities coming on the edge of what some teams might see as a top 12 (some analysts have it as few as 7)?

If I'm choosing from that Tier 2 list above, I'm more than happy to trade down and take what's remaining of that group, no one player there makes me go "I gotta take them at 13."

My prediction: lots of surprises and unexpected (compared to Media/etc. mocks) results. You're going to have varied player rankings among the different teams -- much more so than in prior years simply due to the lack of separation among & within the tiers of players.

which should make for a really fun couple of days for us NFL fans.

If the best value at #13 ends up being an OL who won’t play this year or a rotational DL or LB who needs to be developed….I hope the Rams punt this pick into next year.

Get an impact player at #13
Name a position (outside of QB) that could go down and derail our season? That is why you might take the best OT at 13 IMO. Can't say I'd love it, but Fano would be extremely valuable to us.

I understand your angle. If we were picking at our usual draft position (#25-32) I’d be more inclined to just grab that OT or insurance BPA guy.

I see #13 as a valuable chip the Rams should either stick and pick for a difference maker, or deal the pick for value later.

From that perspective you make a good point. I would say that type of rationale brings us back again to WR as well.

Boston at 13 would be very disappointing. Trade back and I could get into it.
Why?
Just curious. If you like him and you know he probably won’t make it out of the 1rst round, let alone be there at #61, why is this a bad pick at #13. Sure, we’d all love to trade down, grab a couple more picks…and THEN get a guy we have heard is not a top ten player.
…but sometimes those guys are wrong.

If teams agree with you there is no reason, in this draft, that McCoy would be on the board at 13.

Could be because former Rams Coach Jedd Fisch was Boston's head coach. Plus the Rams tried to move up for a somewhat similarly sized Tetairoa McMillan last year.
I don't believe anyone knows shit about what the Rams think. Because they're probably one of the tightest groups around in terms of playing their cards tight to the vest.

That said it is possible there's a coaching connection if Fisch knows him well. And it is possible the Rams are smart enough to understand that adding a receiver with elite hands and frame, who can body DBs and pull down any ball in his catch radius, is going to be magnified a thousandfold playing with a ballsy bastid like Stafford.

And if their interest is in Lemon, it is understandable given the fact their all universe slot was recently in rehab. Again I have no problem with what Puka's been doing, I remember being young and stupid. But the Rams are about to invest very heavily in him so it is possible that factors in to them wanting a slot option.

For the millionth time, though, Lemon's more Woods than he is Nacua or Kupp or Reed. But he would be a very nice insurance policy for Nacua. But since I don't know the details on Puka, and can only see a young kid chasing ass and partying a bit too much, I would opt for the big target who can juice our redzone potency and also play inside if required and who brings size and great hands and catch radius.
