Just an FYI. Maybe this was mentioned, if not, the article below shows why our cap projection changed the last few weeks. It's was due to the 23' draft class earning big salary bumps due to performance.

Pick
13
Los Angeles Rams
(via ATL)

Spencer Fano
Utah · OT · Junior
With starting right tackle Rob Havenstein coming off a second consecutive injury-plagued season and due to hit free agency in March, the Rams bring in Fano to compete with Warren McClendon (who will be entering a contract year) for the starting right tackle job.

Pick
29
Los Angeles Rams

Colton Hood
Tennessee · CB · Sophomore (RS)
Cornerback was a trouble spot for the Rams for much of the season, so Hood's availability late in the first round is a welcome sight for GM Les Snead.

Pick
61
Los Angeles Rams

De'Zhaun Stribling
Mississippi · WR · Senior

Pick
93
Los Angeles Rams

Zakee Wheatley
Penn State · S · Senior

All my hate for this draft, Colton Hood aside.

I don't think most of these people know that McClendon was great this year. He was #12 among all OTs in pass block win rate and #2 in run block win rate. While it's possible he could take a step back next year, there isn't a strong need to bring in competition.

Agreed. Plus, I just guessing that Fano is going to drop down media draft boards a bit after his arm length comes out at the combine.

That said I could understand an argument about having a rookie swing OT for 2026 who afterwards would be a much cheaper option than McClendon at RT the following seasons or even a possible replacement at LT if Jackson's blood clot issue emerges. But, IMO, that player is Freeling.

Fano drops all the way to 6 IMO. Mauigoa #3 to Arizona.

Don't like his arm length or his tackling. Aggressive doesn't mean good.

It's McCoy who's the real blue-chip talent at corner.
First person I've seen saying he can't tackle thank you :D

For the record I'll take either one of them, I just don't get the shade thrown at Delane all the time.

It’s nitpicking season lol. I guess the ACL was a benefit for McCoy since nothing to nitpick on him this past season ;)

I have no shade against him as a cover corner; on that part, I have zero complaints. If we draft him, though, expect to be frustrated by many missed tackles.

Again, aggressive against the run doesn’t always mean good, and Delane shows both good and bad.
