I don't think most of these people know that McClendon was great this year. He was #12 among all OTs in pass block win rate and #2 in run block win rate. While it's possible he could take a step back next year, there isn't a strong need to bring in competition.

Agreed. Plus, I just guessing that Fano is going to drop down media draft boards a bit after his arm length comes out at the combine.

That said I could understand an argument about having a rookie swing OT for 2026 who afterwards would be a much cheaper option than McClendon at RT the following seasons or even a possible replacement at LT if Jackson's blood clot issue emerges. But, IMO, that player is Freeling.
