Just looked it up, Staff is listed at 6'3" 214. Goff is listed at 6'4" 216.

If Simpson is indeed 215 at only 6'1" that has to be more than adequate weight then.
Like I said, if he gets to 215 I'm happy, I believe it's a threshold. Last I checked he's not there but who knows.

All that being said, I think 215 is a bit of a threshold for QBs holding up reasonably well in the NFL.
As a rule.....but there will be exceptions. I'd like to see Simpson get a little thicker. A little. But is 5 lbs going to protect him much? I can't wait to see the kid play.......I don't want to suggest I'm looking forward to the preseason as much as the season but it's a helluva lot closer this year than any I can remember. By far.

5 lbs of weight (especially muscle) is a big deal but we probably don't think so cause we're pissing and sh*tting all the time and gaining and dropping 3lbs of weight daily.

That's why weight is just such a bad indicator of things but useful as an overall benchmark. I think 5lbs that gets you to a benchmark/threshold is a big deal - especially if you don't have a frame that will take much more - and some frames are mogged out!

When push comes to shove, I'm going to trust McSnead.

But, I do wish he was two inches taller and had less injuries this last year.

Of course, if that were the case we would have had to add a couple of future firsts to go up and get him.

I'm coming around on him and will be pulling for him, but he certainly wasn't the guy I had initially wanted.

If he was 2 inches taller he goes Top 3, not Top 13. The height is one of the reasons the pick is so polarizing across the League. Amount of College starts being the biggest.

God, camp can't get here fast enough so at least we can critique his play and not all this other stuff. If he's more than a week at 3rd team though... welcome to the war zone!
As I've said buddy, i disagree with this premise. We dont know what Stetson IS this year and he has a 3-year headstart on the kid.

This is just how I see it, the way you see it is just as valid of course.

And the fact he had 3 injuries in one year. I am really hoping that NFL conditioning will fix that.

A lot of this is placing bets on what we think, I'm quite comfortable placing bets that Stetson is a lovely scout team QB and nothing more. But I can lose the bet for sure.

Yeah, and gun to my head I say Simpson wins QB2. Just not going to freak if he doesn't.

Stetson Bennett had a damn good preseason last year and it wouldn’t surprise me if he had a great preseason this year. He had another year of experience *and* he’s been in this spot before—buried on the depth chart with fans clamoring to see the shiny new QB that was just added to the roster. This is not new for him.

I just think unless Ty Simpson has a Dak-like rookie preseason, he’s going to be QB3 this year. I think McVay gives Stetson a shot to prove he’s capable to be QB2 in the preseason, and if he doesn’t meet McVay’s standard, then we sign Jimmy G or Joe Flacco.

Your out of your Freaking Mind, then again I’d say an injury might cause that. Then the 2026 season gets very interesting.
—I hate to even think that way,but let’s wait to see what happens? I know I enjoy watching the preseason.

....soo, anyway back to the UDFA's -- really won't know what we have with them until camp starts.

.....in 50 days or so, smh.

Hope we keep Eddie Walls III as a practice squad IR candidate. The injury he had didn't look good for him...but I still think he has a lot of potential as an edge rusher.
